Big works carried out on this very neat MGB.

What started out as solving minor oil leaks, grew to a complete engine and transmission reseal, including a new cylinder head, Clutch, radiator and many other additional components in the process.

When replacing some of the failing/ aging components, a lot of upgrade options were chosen to add shine and further reliability in the engine bay.

Another MGB received rear telescopic gas shock conversion, to replace the leaking and outdated Armstrong shocks they originally came out with, it is a cost effective and improved option to reconditioning the old style.

For servicing, repairs and upgrades to your MG or any classic and modern vehicle we have the knowledge and skill to keep you happily motoring.

Warmer weather puts more stress on the cooling system and in most cases highlights certain issues, such as blocked radiators and failed thermostats which hinder efficiency.

More so than a failed thermostat affecting the flow is when they have been “Modified” cutting out the centre or in some cases removed all together for extra flow, preventing the thermostat from operating, causing the engine to not reach operating temp on cold days and not able to cool down on hot days.

If you notice your vehicle not warming up as usual or overheating on hot days it is essential to have the cooling system checked over for any failing components before it creates a larger issue.

Here are some photos of thermostats we have replaced with the right part or upgraded to a high flow option and others that have been “modified” and causing issues.

Clutch slave cylinders commonly fail with age and work, leaving you with no use of the clutch pedal. As was the case for this Colorado/Dmax.

To prevent any future break downs, we replaced the clutch with a “Heavy Duty” option due to kms and the rear main seal while it was apart along with a major service and radiator replacement, which if not picked up on would have failed shortly after.

If you feel your clutch pedal doesn’t feel like it used to and is spongy or takes up with little pedal travel, it is important to have it checked before it leaves you on the side of the road.

After more than 20 years in a shed this AU Falcon is back on the road since tidying up a few things for a RWC, and dialing back some of the custom components reverting back to stock wheels and rear axle, for the time being.

With a genuine 15,000km it was interesting to see how and what components wear purely with age.

While we don’t have a RWC license we are more than capable of bringing your vehicle up to a Road Worthy standard and can assist in acquiring a RWC.

Some coolant leaks can be internal and go unnoticed, mixing with oil and cause serious damage to your engine.

If caught early enough and flushed through thoroughly, engine damage can easily be avoided.

If your coolant is low or requires topping up, and/or you notice oil and coolant mixing in either system, it is crucial to rectify the issue as soon as possible, to avoid costly engine damage.
