Was a big weekend. Unfortunately didn’t yield the results we’d hoped for. As stated… we learn, adapt and improve.
Its been a huge weekend for our team at this weekends Hitech Oils Two Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceway..
Thursday we got a Brand New Holinger Shift Cut k**b delivered.
Friday we worked hard on the shift cut issues ( Thanks Alex Batchelor) and later that day we blew the diff to pieces, not the best start to our weekend
Saturday in race 1, I finished 3rd, but in race 2 I failed to start due to a blown alternator..
Sunday we were starting from 6th row on the back of the grid.
Race 3 and I blasted away and was up to 6th position by lap 2, cautiously working through the field and comfortable in to 3rd place by lap 8. At that point I was to far behind Trent Rub and Murray Riley but well clear of Clayton Mortensen so I was happy to settle in to 3rd place which gave me a fighting chance in the last race of the day. Or so I thought ......
It wasnt to be and on the last lap the poor little motor dropped a rod and we had a huge spin in my oil and ended up on the in field only 400m from the finish
Big Thankyou to the team Lindsay Eames , Dave Carter , Wayne Holtham and Duff.. You guys worked constantly to keep nme in the fight but it wasnt to be this weekend.
It may seem to some that we are constantly having issues and not finishing races and that is on the surface correct but with this great team of boys we are turning this ol girl into a true race car and with success comes failure. We live and we learn.
Stick with us guys because the best is yet to come....
