CHMC is a NSW peak body for clubs with historic, veteran, vintage, and post-vintage to 1990s cars, motor cycles, trucks, tractors & machinery, and their 1,000s of members. The COUNCIL OF HERITAGE MOTOR CLUBS NSW INC. [CHMC] was formed in 1970 to represent the veteran, vintage, post-vintage, classic and historic motor clubs of country New South Wales. The majority of CHMC affiliated clubs were then country based and this led, in its early years, to the Council being commonly referred to as The BUSH COUNCIL However the CHMC for many years now has clubs based in Wollongong, Newcastle and Sydney so it is represents historic motor clubs right across New South Wales. The CHMC is an Incorporated Association with its own purpose-written Constitution. The Council has an elected Committee of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Editor, TfNSW Liaison Officer, Registrar and two AHMF delegates. All officers are unpaid and work voluntarily for the benefit of the member clubs. The CHMC meets formally twice a year with member clubs' delegates gathering to discuss issues of common interest or concern. In between the April and October meetings the CHMC Committee meets regularly, either face-to-face or online. The CHMC communicates with its member clubs by its newsletter “Dinkum Oil”, topical emailings and Committee visits to clubs. CHMC holds information days and workshops, in person and online to keep clubs up-to-date especially on vehicle registration. Council regularly updates its Facebook Posts and its website - www.heritagemotoringcouncil.org.au

REPRESENTATION Since its formation in 1970 Council has been active in discussions with the relevant NSW roads and transport authorities. Changes from the old Club Plate scheme to the current Conditional registration scheme, the Historic Vehicle Scheme [HVS], were due to the valuable input of this Council. CHMC makes regular submissions reflecting the majority view of member clubs on such matters as historic vehicle registration schemes, vehicle standards, vehicle safety and fuels. CHMC is very proactive with government and other agencies in all matters concerning historic and heritage vehicles. MEMBERSHIP enquires are welcomed from historic motor vehicle clubs in NSW whose goals include the preservation and use of vehicles more than 30 years old. NATIONAL AFFILIATION The CHMC is an active member of the national body representing historic motor clubs across Australia - the Australian Historic Motoring Federation.

These kids absolutely loved wandering around the museum! They could name just about every car and had an amazing knowledge of how they work.

🚗❤️ This is what we love most about our museum, inspiring the next generation and seeing their passion for cars grow. We’re so glad you boys had such a great time on your holidays! Enjoy your new model cars, boys!

We hope to see you back again soon! 🏎️
