After going to all the effort of installing this single Techsafe seat behind our passenger seat.. AND building our nice new 'work on the road' setup around it - we are considering just putting the factory bench seat back in..
Are we mad 🫠?! What would you do?
Reasonings/ponderings:
1. We now have a toddler and the retractable belt is... difficult. So we're ok while she is in her carseat but as soon as she is old enough to use it we reckon she is going to really struggle with it. It also sits quite high on your neck. Both are things we didn't know before installing it.
2. Our Troopy is heavier on the RHS. We suspected as much - but new parabolics have made that point clear 😅. We don't have anything in the cupboards currently and we are still leany-boys. No wonder it nearly rolled that side when we tried to do that sketchy steep arse hill in the Pilbara 🫣
3. We will probably always have our caravan with us for accom or take a tent if we just have the Troopy. No more sleeping inside the Troop. But don't see ourselves camping with just the Troopy for quite a while.
4. Fish (pic 2) just has nowhere to be when we are travelling, and could ride up on the bench seat next to Delilah
5. As we are no longer using just the Troopy by itself for long term travel, we don't really need all our storage nooks.
Please share your thoughts - Should we re-engineer it back to factory and re-do the setup AGAIN 🫠... or just suck it up and leave it as-is 😅
