Really interesting listening to Chris Harris and friends spend time with the pre-production Jaguar Type 01, while also driving some of the Jaguars that inspired it. Link here: https://louguthry.com.au/news/chris-harris-and-friends-drive-the-jaguar-type-01/

It’s a thoughtful discussion from people who genuinely understand Jaguar’s history, design language and character. What I found most interesting is that the story behind the car may be a little more nuanced than many of us first thought.

Jaguar has never really moved the needle by playing it safe, and some of the brand’s most celebrated cars were controversial when new. Regardless of where you sit on the new direction, it’s an interesting conversation and well worth a watch.

Full details here: https://louguthry.com.au/cars-for-sale-en/1988-jaguar-xj40-xj6-3.6l/

The Jaguar XJ40 arrived in showrooms in late 1987 and marked a major step forward for Jaguar, introducing the brand’s new generation alloy six-cylinder engine that would remain in production until the arrival of the V8 models. Both the XJ40 and later X300 series have proven themselves to be durable, reliable and economical classics, avoiding many of the maintenance concerns associated with some earlier and later Jaguars. This particular two-owner 3.6 litre example has travelled just 97,958km and is accompanied by its original books, service history, spare key and invoice file. Finished in Glacier White with Mulberry leather trim, the car presents as a very original example and is being sold as traded, any test welcome.
