🌡️🚗 Cooling Weather Doesn’t Mean You Should Ignore Your Coolant Level

Just because the weather is cooling down doesn’t mean your cooling system stops working hard. Your engine still relies on the correct coolant level to help maintain proper operating temperature and prevent overheating.

A small coolant leak can quickly turn into a much bigger and more costly repair if left unchecked. Taking a moment to regularly check your coolant level can help catch problems early.

If you notice your coolant level dropping, signs of leaks, or temperature changes, it’s best to have it inspected sooner rather than later.

As the weather starts cooling down, rats and mice often look for warm places to nest — and unfortunately, vehicle engine bays and wiring can become the perfect spot.

Rodents can chew through wiring, build nests around components, and cause a range of issues including:

💧🚗 DPF Dosing System Maintenance

Many Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Lancia, Mazda, and Volvo vehicles are fitted with a DPF dosing system that uses a special additive stored in a bag or tank. This fluid helps the vehicle complete the DPF regeneration process, allowing the soot collected in the filter to burn off correctly.

Over time, the dosing bag or tank will need refilling or replacement throughout the life of the vehicle. If the system runs low or becomes damaged, the vehicle may struggle to complete regenerations, which can lead to DPF blockages and costly repairs.

📸 The image below shows a damaged dosing bag we recently came across that required replacement. Keeping this system maintained is important to ensure your DPF continues to operate correctly.
