πŸ›‘πŸš— Stopping Is Pretty Important Too… πŸ˜…

Most people think about oil changes when booking a service β€” but what about your brakes?

Brake pads and rotors wear over time, and catching them early during a service can help prevent:
⚠️ Costly repairs
⚠️ Poor braking performance
⚠️ Damage to rotors and other components

At Hunter Automotive Solutions, we inspect your brakes as part of our servicing process to help keep your vehicle safe and roadworthy. Because going is important… but stopping is pretty handy too. πŸ˜‰

πŸŒ‘οΈπŸš— Cooling Weather Doesn’t Mean You Should Ignore Your Coolant Level

Just because the weather is cooling down doesn’t mean your cooling system stops working hard. Your engine still relies on the correct coolant level to help maintain proper operating temperature and prevent overheating.

A small coolant leak can quickly turn into a much bigger and more costly repair if left unchecked. Taking a moment to regularly check your coolant level can help catch problems early.

If you notice your coolant level dropping, signs of leaks, or temperature changes, it’s best to have it inspected sooner rather than later.

πŸπŸš— Cooling Weather Means More Rodent Damage Risks

As the weather starts cooling down, rats and mice often look for warm places to nest β€” and unfortunately, vehicle engine bays and wiring can become the perfect spot.

Rodents can chew through wiring, build nests around components, and cause a range of issues including:
⚠️ Engine warning lights
⚠️ Starting problems
⚠️ Sensor faults
⚠️ Electrical failures

πŸ“Έ The photos below are from a recent vehicle that came into the workshop with warning lights on the dash. During inspection, we discovered the rodent nest pictured below hidden in the engine bay.

πŸŒ‘οΈπŸš— Debris in Your Radiator WillCause Problems

Your radiator needs clean airflow to keep your engine at the correct temperature. Over time, leaves, dirt, and other debris can build up in the radiator and condenser fins, restricting airflow through the cooling system.

This can lead to reduced cooling efficiency and even overheating, especially during hot weather or when towing.

Keeping the radiator and cooling system clear of debris helps ensure your engine stays running at the correct temperature.

πŸš—βš™οΈ Transmission Service

Your vehicle’s transmission works hard every time you drive. Over time, transmission fluid can break down and lose its ability to properly lubricate and protect internal components.

Old or degraded fluid can lead to poor shifting, transmission overheating, and even vehicle surging while driving. Regular servicing helps maintain smooth operation and long-term reliability, while also helping prevent costly repairs down the track.

At Hunter Automotive Solutions, we can inspect and service your transmission to ensure everything is operating as it should.

πŸ’§πŸš— DPF Dosing System Maintenance

Many Peugeot, CitroΓ«n, Fiat, Ford, Lancia, Mazda, and Volvo vehicles are fitted with a DPF dosing system that uses a special additive stored in a bag or tank. This fluid helps the vehicle complete the DPF regeneration process, allowing the soot collected in the filter to burn off correctly.

Over time, the dosing bag or tank will need refilling or replacement throughout the life of the vehicle. If the system runs low or becomes damaged, the vehicle may struggle to complete regenerations, which can lead to DPF blockages and costly repairs.

πŸ“Έ The image below shows a damaged dosing bag we recently came across that required replacement. Keeping this system maintained is important to ensure your DPF continues to operate correctly.
