G'day Restorers, Maybe someone can help John find his dads Fargo.
From John to me-
"G'day Brad, it would be good to finally locate the old truck after all this time.
The basic info is that it is (as far as I know) are 1934 Fargo with MN 305 numberplate. 3 tonne, petrol motor, 6 cylinders.
It was used to cart stores to my parents shop at Mt Ida, from Kalgoorlie, mainly for the goldmines there but also the adjacent sheep stations.
Dad (David Evans) was a prospector and miner on the WA goldfields, mainly at Kurnalpi, and Comet Vale, a small town south of Menzies, where they lived for 3 years. He used to take the locals to the dances at Menzies on the truck.
They then moved to Kalgoorlie in 1948, after buying a large block there. He mined beryllium at Spargoville south of Coolgardie, where the truck was used to cart the beryl to the railhead at Kalgoorlie, for despatch to the USA. The truck was used for many purposes, including sandalwood operations. It sometimes carted up to 5 tonnes to the railway station in Kal.
It must have done many hundreds of thousands of miles before being sold when Dad passed away in 1967. It used the same numberplate MN 305 (Menzies) all its life.
I would hope that it's been refurbished and has a good home.
