‘56 Oval Beetle - Drivers side heater channel in place and ready to lock off. Tonne of metal works coming together and ready to start locking off.

‘65 Beetle - Lower front drivers side 1/4 fabricating in full swing. Guards being attended to and panel beating techniques being applied to hammer and file finish damage.

‘74 Baywindow - Hanging panels coloured out and a range of gloss colour being laid down.

‘66 11 Window - Fitout works nearing close. All hanging panels hung and swung. Gapped and ready for further fitout works.

‘62 11 Window - Engine assembly nearing an end. Plenty of paint prep works on the forecast and getting close to underside prep and colour.

‘56 Oval Beetle - Major metal works being ticked off. Front nose and apron meeting complete. Passenger side heater channel and rear cross member works in full swing.

‘63 Beetle - New exhaust and engine tune up on the job list and ready to shakedown drive next week. A few small jobs to tick off along the way.

‘74 Baywindow - Underside stone guard coated and fitout works in full swing. Mechanical items starting to go back in place.

‘66 11 Window - Fitout works nearing close. All hanging panels hung and swung. Gapped and ready for further fitout works.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage ✌️

‘60 11 Window Shannons Insurance Job - the end of the road has come for this big smash repair process. Massive metal works to rectify the front that was all squashed in. New paintwork, or mechanical running gear back in where it belongs, road test shakedown and ready to send home next week.

‘66 11 Window - front Safari windows assembled and installed and looking perfect. Plenty more to attend to in fed out but starting to get very close for the final home-run of works.

‘63 11 Window - paintwork underside starting to be commenced. Hanging panels ready to be colour and clear coated. Such a beautiful colour combo and fine detail to be laid down.

‘65 Dormobile Camper - 2 x Anderson plugs installed into engine bay for trickle charging of Auxiliary Battery and main crank battery. Some final touches next week then job all complete and ready for its final buff and polish.

‘56 Oval Beetle - passenger side heater channel and re-sheet metal where cross members join and rear wheel tops join now all repaired. End in place. Massive works to rectify the lasagne sheet metal area that comes together with four layers adjoining around each other.

‘63 Beetle - this sweet little Beetle in for some mechanical tuneup and overhaul works commencing shortly.

‘74 Baywindow - colour and clear lay down throughout the week. Top half white in full gloss, lower half in a Nissan patrol grey metallic Matt clear coated. A very tough looking colour combination that’s going to work really well in final fit out.

‘75 Baywindow - end of the road has come for this cool patina vehicle. Twin Webber carburettor kits and electronic ignition installed. Some final road testing shakedown works ticked off this week and ready to handover to the owner.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage ✌️

‘66 11 Window - side pop out windows being assembled and ready to start installing next week. Cargo floor holds drilled for securing middle and rear seat frames firmly to the floor.

‘65 Dormobile Camper - final weeks of this restoration nearing completion. Interior push button switches finalised and all working flawlessly. Some auxiliary battery wiring and hidden charging plugs to be installed next week. Then it will be ready for its final buff and polish to then be loaded into our storage container for safekeeping until the enclosed Transport arrives.

‘60 Shannons Insurance Job - final fit out stages happening and being ticked off each day. Windows and side pop out assemblies to be installed next week with some final road testing before handover to the owner.

‘63 11 Window - engine assembly nearing completion and starting to look real. Damn nice hanging panels now completely block sanded and ready for the colour and clearcoat process next week.

‘56 Oval Beetle - heater channels works in full swing and nearing completion on the passenger side. So many layers of sheet metal that have rusted and rotted surrounding areas that are only accessible upon complete deleting of heater channel.

‘74 Baywindow - exterior block sanded flat and ready for colour next week. The colour combination will be pretty trick and a slight variation of what we normally do for its final finish. Stay tuned for how this paintwork finish looks in the coming week. Underside in Black texture coating for durability and great road resistance of Stone chips and wear.

‘75 Baywindow - twin Weber carburettor kit being installed next week along with electronic ignition kit for that fantastic fine tuning and trouble free settings.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage ✌️

‘65 Dormobile Camper - plenty more road testing underway and it’s final clean down and buff works ready to be ticked off. Absolutely loving this Dormobile style camper that we’ve built with some beautiful timber work inside. Photos to come on its reveal in a few weeks.

‘66 11 Window - engine assembly ticked off and bolted into the engine bay and ready to start wiring and connecting to fire up next week. Trim cards cut to size and starting to tick those final boxes of interior pieces along with paintwork on miscellaneous items.

‘63 11 Window - Hanging panels starting to get prepped for exterior colour works in the coming weeks. More interior miscellaneous pieces coloured out in readiness for assembly when fit out commence

‘60 Shannons Insurance Job - assembly underway and starting to come along nicely. New wiring harness pulled through and electrics connected up. Windows and some miscellaneous items in next week and ready for hand over.

‘56 Oval Beetle - plenty of metal works being ticked off. Bonnet repairs mostly completed. Passenger side heater channel ready to go in next week. Rear crossmember fabric and rust replacement attended to after some major reconstruction was needed to rid of existing rust.

‘75 Baywindow - final pieces of mechanical items being attended to. Electric fuel pump being installed and some little items remaining for some final road testing then handover for the owner to drive the pants off it.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage ✌️

‘64 11 Window - engine assembly underway. Fresh gloss paint tinware being put back into place. Carby’s and other engine components starting to be bolted in place.

‘66 11 Window - final pieces of the engine coming together and starting to look absolutely stunning. Fingers crossed getting it plugged in next week to where it lives and hopefully firing it up to life. Rear shocks being measured to length and ready to bolt in.

‘63 11 Window - Underside metalworks nearing completion with plenty of welding being ground smooth and getting ready for final preparations for painting underneath. Freshly painted tin were coming together onto the engine assembly and starting to look really damn slick.

‘56 Oval Beetle - massive metal works this week with the left-hand side heater channel removed and plenty of surrounding areas needing to be repaired. Plenty of metal fabrication having to be done to replace crappy rusted metal and surrounding areas. Bonnet metal works being attended to. Small dents being metal worked out and filed down flat.
