Here are the dyno results we achieved last week on the KZN165 Hilux we freshened up, with upgraded HPD front mount intercooler, Unichip and tune. Almost 100Nm more torque available from 1600rpm has really improved drivability.

We’ve done more work on the GU Patrol that was forwarded to us with an undiagnosed ‘no start’ symptom. We quickly discovered the seized compressor (as well as leaky water pump). We also spotted worn shock absorbers. After talking to the customer and learning that he does a fair bit of off-road driving, he went with our recommendation and upgraded the suspension with Dobinsons Spring & Suspension heavy duty monotube shocks to suit the 2 inch lift already fitted to the vehicle.

Forwarded on from another workshop, this Patrol was undiagnosed with 'no start' symptoms, HPD Service Centre had it running in less that 5 minutes! How? Our team quickly diagnosed it from a belt squeal noise, Finding a seized aircon compressor creating too much resistance for the engine to crank to required rpm to fire up!!

We're replacing AC Compressor & belt. We've also found the water pump is leaking and requiring replacement + performing some routine maintenance!
