These Rainbow Lorikeets may be super cute, but they have BIG personalities and are as cheeky as can be. They are regulars at BIG4 Crystal Brook, bossing around the bigger birds at the bird feeder, and patrolling outside the office and anywhere there might be snacks to be found! Their vibrant colours make them a favourite with the kids who visit the park!

⭐Fun Fact: Rainbow Lorikeets have a brush-tipped tongue with tiny little hairs protruding from it that acts like a paint brush to soak up nectar and catch pollen.

Staying at BIG4 Crystal Brook Tourist Park this AFL Finals long weekend?

Whether your favourite team wins or loses, to celebrate (or commiserate...) the AFL Grand Finals we're serving up a delicious pancake breakfast for our in house guests from 8:30-9:30 AM on Sunday 27 September 2026. 🥞

💖 We would like to extend a really BIG thank you to our guests who stayed with us and supported us during our stage 1 roadworks project.
It was a huge project, involving a full excavation and resurface of our old, potholed roads as well as some major plumbing works to fix a few leaks and water flow issues around the park.
The patience, grace, support and positivity of our guests throughout this project was extraordinary and we thank you from the bottom our our hearts.
Stay tuned for stage 2, when we complete the rest of the roads in the park next year! 💖

She helped supervise stage 1 of our roadworks project, keeping the crew and the park staff in line (which is no easy task)... so we couldn't think of a better person to do the ⭐OFFICIAL ROAD TEST⭐ of the roads in the newly resurfaced section of the park than our cute little site supervisor!

She gave them a BIG tick of approval ✅

One of the things our guests love most about BIG4 Crystal Brook is our location... and our laidback bushland vibe.
Nestled in the relaxed leafy suburb of East Doncaster we're under an hour to Melbourne C*D, the Yarra Valley and all that metropolitan Melbourne has to offer, with public transport at our door... but you wouldn't know it!
Surrounded by native bushland, local birdlife and genuine country hospitality, at BIG4 Crystal Brook you could be forgiven for thinking you're miles from anywhere!

⭐We're nearly done! ⭐
Now that the roadwork crew have mostly wrapped up, the BIG4 Crystal Brook Team have been busy out in the grounds tidying up edges and landscaping where the roadworks and plumbing works over the last 6 weeks have created some mess.
We're on track to have the rest of our cabins and sites back online and fully operational by September 14!

These Long-billed Corellas often come to visit us at BIG4 Crystal Brook. You'll find them strutting around the bird feeder and throughout the park, hanging out in groups and keeping an eye on the coming and goings of the park.

⭐ Fun Fact: Unlike many other parrots that stay in the tree canopies, corellas spend a lot of time foraging on the ground, using their beaks to dig out roots, tubers and bulbs.

It's time to celebrate! 🎉
The final sections of asphalting were completed late last week, and the crew is busy tidying up ready for handover! It's almost a wrap on our stage 1 roadworks project, and WOW does it look fabulous! 🤩
