😴💤 When do you notice your biggest energy dip?

AAA research shows our alertness changes throughout the day, even after a good night’s sleep.

Everyone’s body clock is different. Know when your alertness dips, recognise the signs of fatigue and plan your driving around them.

📥 Don’t drive tired. Understand and manage your fatigue with our new free resources: aaa.asn.au/research-data/road-safety-research-program/fatigued-driving/managing-fatigue-resources

When travelling in Sri Lanka, you have plenty of choices when it comes to getting around.

After speaking with a Australian medical student who spent time observing in Sri Lankan hospitals, I thought I’d share my take.

🛺 Tuk Tuks are a lot of fun, particularly in quieter areas, and they’re definitely part of the Sri Lankan experience.

🚕 Taxis, Uber and PickMe cars are generally more comfortable and, in my opinion, a safer option — especially on busy roads and longer journeys.

Unfortunately Tuk Tuks are frequently involved in collisions with buses. The buses often travel quickly and seem to rely heavily on their horns rather than slowing down when they encounter a potentially hazardous situation.

So my recommendation? Enjoy the Tuk Tuk experience, but choose a car when you’re travelling on busy roads or covering longer distances. Safety first! 🇱🇰

Along the east coast of Sri Lanka, drivers face a few more hazards than we’re used to in Melbourne… including cows and goats! 🐄🐐😂

It’s a great reminder of the importance of constantly scanning your surroundings, maintaining good situational awareness and being prepared for the unexpected.
