Been so hard hanging and holding off from making this post.
But i feel its time...

We made the desicion to take my EK to the next level of drag racing, from "street" car to trailer queen...
Our first order was custom carbon front fenders with 50mm flare to suit prefacelift front end, and that just made my lenso drag wheels with Enemies Racing beed locks fit perfectly. Thanx heaps Jamie Farmer and your team for going above and beyond for the first ever 13" beed locks you guys made...

Along with that order, we added carbon doors with lexan windows, with a massive 21kg weight saving per door 😳

My next problem was, which bumper to run...🙄
I tried my original bumper with a Charge speed lip, I tried a bys bumper, i tried a ej8 bumper...

We made the call for yet another 1 off custom part...
Carbon front bumper to suit prefacelift front end....
Why the pfl you will ask??
1. I love the shape
2. I like to be that little bit different
3. I already had yet another custom part made by Emman Pethyon from , pfl Passenger side headlight duct.

So, after many discussions, planning, design and styles, the main man behind all the carbon parts Charlie Pocock from Piyesa Hub came to the party and blew my mind.

Enjoy the pics guys, and much more progress coming soon, we promise.

This one has been a long term slow build for us.
We worked closely with our long term friend, come customer for his exclusive build

We finally convince Chris Brown to come over to the dark side of turbo charging his super clean and already B series ej8.

But Chris had other plans
He wanted to go all out on a built b18c and turbo at the same time

So we sat down, laid it all out on the table.
Options, specs, and a plan.

Some decisions happened along the way
As somethings weren't quite clear to start with.

So it began

We sent a stock b18c2 block over to our mate Travis at Hammond Engineering for a css install.
In the meantime we pieced together parts from our USA supplier Fernando Martinez from OSTAR MOTORSPORTS
Eagle rods & Cp pistons
Gsc turbo cams and a heap of supporting accessories for the head.

We already had instock a AFI ramhorn manifold, so we ordered a gtx3076 garrett turbo & a 44mm Tial wastegate.

We opted for a skunk2 ultra street intake manifold.
And this is where it got interesting, we were in the process of developing our bolt on DBW kit for eg, ek, dc chassis.

So Chris being Chris, allowed us free range and use his car as a test dummy u could say for all our development parts.
So we went for a 70mm bosch dbw throttle body.

Next on the list we had a very capable hondata s300 v3 with burton racing cop kit for this car, but Chris really wanted a screen/dash and due to dbw we had to look at other options.
Yes, the hondata can run a screen, but only view oem sensors etc.
And it also cant run dbw.

We then decided to ditch that idea
And go with a fueltech ft550.

Since then, we ditched all the oem sensors also
So we have bosch combo sensors for oil, water and fuel
We have fueltech nano wideband and
5 button key pad

The gearbox was sent off to Aaron at HGG Melbourne for a once over and install of M factory l*d and a gsi 5th gear for hwy driving.
And as this car is keen in running into the 10s at the drags, we added a magnus motorsport clutch slipper to help slip the competition stage 4, clutch kit. Thanx to Ivan Ho at x3e motorsports.

Chris Farrugia did some amazing work wiring the engine and accessories we asked for, aswell as elec p/s and oem a/c to work with the fueltech.

Girks Lunar the fabricator made it all come together, with a beautiful 3" stainless dump pipe & exhaust, Screamer pipe and 2.5" alloy cooler piping, some bracketry to mount everything in place and neatly tucked away with minimal trimming of the bumper to keep it all sleeper looking.

We also spent some well needed money on brakes and suspension.
Thanks to Hakon Suspension - AU for the coilovers.
Hardrace arms throughout, a set of traction bars upfront will be of great help getting the car to drive down the track striaght.
Some billet hasport mounts and torque mounts have it all sitting pretty.

And all the little itty bitty pieces missing and needed along the way and needed urgently came from none other than the boys at Elusive Racing..

All the water and oil lines we made as well as Injectors and fuel pump came from the crew at RPM Race Parts Melbourne.

Big thanx to Nathaniel Arden from FuelTech Australia for making the time to be with us and help with initial ecu start up, and finalise some ecu setting, after we calibrated as much info and sensors we could while the engine wasn't running.

Massive thank you to Craig Pisa at PSR Tuning for assembling the motor, and working his magic behind the laptop on the rollers.

*Long post, sorry, much to recap*
What a weekend we have had.
You get a car down in one state. Go to the next, and it's like a totally new car.

We battled all day on Friday trying to get a decent clean pass with full power, but it just wasn't our day.
From some driver error, to car setup and clutch adjustment issues, we struggled.
We managed to run a 10.03 at 135mph, way off our target, but it was a good time for our class.

Saturday morning we had 3 qualifying passes to do.
First pass we forgot to turn the slipper valve on. On the launch the car shook the tire, axel hopped and smashed the axel in half.
We carry many axels in case, in the past this was a common occurrence.
We repaired and went back for our 2nd qualifier. We got the slipper valve on, and managed a clean a to b pass of 10.04 at 141mph, which ment the boost was back up in the higher gears.
3rd qualifying pass came around, and we had to make some clutch adjustments. I decided to go without the slipper to try and short track better, I pulled the clutch out a tad too quickly and broke an axel again.
Our qualifying was now over.

We went out to round 1 with a dial in of 10.00, the other car dialed in a 10.60.
In reality if I cut a good light, and made an decent a to b pass I could have chased the car down.
My reaction time was terrible, and his was brilliant. I was chasing him down, but didn't manage to get past him. He took the win, but we I managed to run a 9.95 at 138mph, so happy, but we took the loss.

We did manage to win top qualifier for the weekend in our class. So we are bringing home one of, hopefully many jamboree billet 'J's.

I'd like to thank everyone involved in organising such a brilliant event, Kelly Bettes Colin Willshire Jamboree Sydney Dragway you guys turn it up every year at 3 of the biggest events in Australia, us racers cannot thank you enough.

I'd also like to thank the crew that drove up all night to give us a hand on Friday and Saturday. Johnny Dama and Rob Aleks Lozanovski Lewis.
Simon Ioannou and the Promaz Automotive boys for the spare bits and lend of the grinder.
Thanks a million.

A little bitter sweet moment in our first elimination pass
Cut a terrible light
Played the chasing game
Got ever so close to the win.

However we did break out,
But that means we finally ran our 9.95 in Sydney Dragway at Sydney Jamboree 2024

And after a struggle weekend with driver and car fighting us...this is wat a top qualifier looks like

Q3 just didn't wanna play ball
Another broken axle
But all repaired and ready for elimination round1 coming up soon

27/04/2024

Q2 went well
10.04
Slower 60ft than we normally run.
But we at our qualifying time is spot on for our class
