After successfully running Di Filippo Performance Exhausts (DPE) for two decades, unfortunate health circumstances forced us to close the business. It was a heartbreaking decision, considering the thriving state of the company and the strong relationships we had built with over 2,000 loyal customers.
The dedicated staff at DPE had become like a second family, and the workplace was always a joyous and lively environment. Although we sold the plant, equipment and exhausts jigs to Manta Exhausts in WA, we made sure to keep ownership of the business name itself. The name "Di Filippo" holds great sentimental value to me and will never be sold.
Additionally, many people recognize us from our involvement in drag racing. We had taken part in various racing categories such as Top Fuel, Nitro Funny Car, Jet Funny Cars, and Jet Dragsters. Health reasons also put a stop to this exhilarating sport.
This was a significant loss for me, the Di Filippo Family, and our dedicated racing crew. Racing had been a consistent part of our lives, and the memories we created will be cherished forever.
I cannot help but think about the countless hours spent building motors and being away from family. However, it brings me immense joy to see my kids now engaging in rally car racing as the third generation of our family in this thrilling endeavour.
Who knows where their passion will take them?
After a five-year gap, together with my family, Wayne and I have decided to embark on a new venture—Di Filippo Performance Cars (DPC).
This is a business that we both hold a great deal of passion for. In addition to our exhaust work, while running DPE, we had the opportunity to build a wide range of cars, from AC Cobras and XY GTs to LH Torana SLR replicas and Boss Mustangs, we embraced the challenge of crafting various custom vehicles. The creativity and dedication never ended, be it burn out cars, drag cars or jet trucks.
Now, with DPC, we will not only sell cars, but aspire to build and offer them to enthusiasts. We are committed to transparency and will take an open and honest approach when it comes to selling, sharing both the positives and negatives without any hidden agendas. Our utmost joy lies in serving customers and helping them find their dream car.
The passion for cars runs deep in my veins, thanks to the influence of my parents.
They have been involved in the automotive scene throughout their entire lives – from managing ESSO Service Stations to operating C&C Performance, a local wrecking yard, as well as founding True Flow Exhausts and Western Automatics. Furthermore, they engaged in drag racing in categories such as SS/AA, Top Alcohol, as well as Top Fuel.
Personally, I've always had a fondness for discovering exceptional cars, buying and holding onto them for a few years before selling them off. Along the way, I enjoy fixing up a few, and I've also been involved in importing several cars. Now, the time has come to take this passion to a more serious level.
Our goal is to keep an inventory of 60 to 100 muscle cars while providing exceptional customer service to car enthusiasts all around the world.
We eagerly look forward to reconnecting with old customers and forging new relationships with many more.
