We're curious if it matches what we're seeing 👇
Ever notice how the busiest car parks in Melbourne always seem to have a fender bender happening somewhere? Chadstone on a Saturday. The Highpoint ramp during EOFY sales. DFO Essendon two weeks before Christmas. If you've driven through any of these lately, you already know the vibe. Everyone's reversing at the same time, nobody's really looking, and someone's always in a rush to grab that one spot near the entrance.
Here's the thing though, A smash in a car park still counts as an accident, and fault still gets worked out the same way it would on the road. If someone reverses into you while you're parked, or clips your door while you're stationary, that's very likely not your fault, even though it happened at 5km/h in a shopping centre car park instead of on the freeway.

A lot of people just... let it go.
"It was only a scratch."
"It's just a car park, not worth the hassle."
But if it wasn't your fault, you're not supposed to be the one paying for it; repairs, hire car, any of it.We see this play out constantly across Melbourne's busiest centres, and most people genuinely don't realise they've got options once it happens.
