Today Hunter and I took the 63 Avanti on a club run. We first drove just over an hour and a half to the Caldermeade farm and Cafe, where we met up with a few members from the club for morning tea.
It was then onto Phillip Island to vist the National Vietnam Veterans Museum, where we had a guided tour, that was very informative. They had many items of memorabilia from the war on display, as well as a great selection of military vehicles and aircraft.
Following the Museum, it was then onto lunch at the San Remo Hotel, which was delicious. Around 2pm we headed off home, as we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us.
Was a great day out.

This morning dad, Hunter and myself took the two 53's to a cars and coffee in Geelong.
Would have been a couple of hundred cars on show. We had the only 2 Studebakers, but they drew a lot of attention.

This morning dad and I took the Avanti's to the local Men's Shed monthly car gathering.
First time for ages that we have had both our Avanti's at a show together. They certainly drew a lot of attention and we probably spent more time talking to people about the cars, then looking at the others on display.
Was a great morning.

Hunter and I took the 53 Commanser for a drive this afternoon. Had to stop for a photo of the car in front of a cool mural on the side of a shop in Werribee.

Day 4 of our trip to Penola and our last day.
We were up early this morning and packed the cars. Our first stop was a little cafe in Penola for breakfast. It was then on the road and our next stop for the day being Coleraine, as we spotted a vintage car in a shop window. Unfortunately they were closed, but we were able to see a few more vehicles inside through the window, we then had a look at some funny sculptures in a garden, before hitting the road again. Next stop was Cemps Auto Museum in Hamilton. A fantastic collection of vehicles and memorabilia, but our highlight was a 1915 Studebaker Tourer. We then had a couple more short stops in a few small country towns, before arriving home mid afternoon.

Day 3 of our trip to Penola.
First we visited the Coonawarra railway siding for a group photo of the cars.
It was then onto the Coonawarra market, where we brought a few things. We the drove out to the Naracoorte Caves, for a look around the park and the visitors centre, followed by a tour of the fossil caves.
Heading back to Penola we stopped at Farther Woods Park, to look at the wood calved sculptures. Finished the night off with a delicious dinner at the motel restaurant.

Day 2 of the Halfway Meet in Penola.
We spent the morning looking through the shops, antique stores and galleries in town.
We then went for a drive out to Yallum Park Homestead for lunch and a tour of the beautiful home, built in the 1800's.
We finished the day off with a bbq back at the motel.

Upgraded the headlights in the 53 Commander today. The old 6 voltage sealed beams were just not cutting it. Fitted LED'S, and even in the daylight, they are so much brighter.

Update: tried the new lights out in the dark, they work great!!
