Happy Sunday! Hopefully your weekend has given you a chance to relax and recharge. Maybe you got married, that'd be pretty cool!

Recently, my partner and I have been planning our wedding (though she's really doing the heavy lifting - thanks baby!), and I got to thinking about why I enjoy performing wedding ceremonies.

Like a lot of things, I knew I liked it, but I hadn't stopped to think about why. I've always been good at speaking in front of crowds and creating fun, vibrant atmosphere, but that didn't explain why I liked it. That was just the way I like to work, both in my full-time job and as a celebrant. After all, who wants to work if you're not having at least a little bit of fun?

Then, it clicked. There is nothing quite like the joy of uniting a couple who love each other. There is a pure, wholesome and captivating happiness that occurs during a wedding, which fills not just the happy couple, but all the guests as well.

And I love being a part of it! Pronouncing a couple married to a group of elated, cheering loved ones is an amazing experience and one I never get tired of.

Winter wedding wonders!

Hello you amazing people!

With March quickly disappearing in the rear-view mirror, it won't be long before Winter is well and truly upon us. For a lot of couples, Winter doesn't stand out as a desirable time of year to get married.

However, after two years with serious restrictions on wedding party sizes, I am expecting this winter to be a bit busier than previous years! And I'm excited for all those couples who are going to embark on the next phase of their relationships!

So excited, in fact, that I'm capping the cost of all wedding ceremonies between 22/4/22 and 31/8/22 at $500.00 max! For context, the average celebrant cost in Melbourne is between $750 and $1000!

There are only two conditions:
1. The venue must be within 100kms of Melbourne C*D - any greater, and an additional fee for fuel will apply
2. The wedding isn't on a public holiday - public holidays will be charged at a normal rate.

So if you're planning to get married this winter, I would love to hear from you and help celebrate your love for one another.

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I posted on this account! To be honest, there hasn’t been much to post about. Personally, I haven’t performed a ceremony since February. Understandably, there have been so many unknowns regarding restrictions throughout the past 2 years that certainty has been hard to come by.

But it’s 2022 now! It’s a new year, and it looks likely that lockdowns are (hopefully) a thing of the past. I’m looking forward to leaving the last two years behind us and make 2022 a better year for myself and those around me.

Late last year, I was doing the annual Ongoing Professional Development (OPD) that all celebrants must do. One of the questions was why do I love being a celebrant? It is simple question, but it’s one that is so important to understand the answer to. After all, why we do things can be as important as what we do.

So, why do I love being a celebrant?

Because I love to celebrate people! Getting married is one of the biggest moments in a person’s life, where they look at the person they love most in the world and say, “whatever comes next, we’re doing it together”. In making that commitment, they start a brand-new phase in their lives, one of challenges and triumphs, and being involved in that is such a joyous feeling. There is nothing quite like it!

I’m so excited for what 2022 has in store. After such a long time out of action, I can’t wait to get back to doing this thing I love!
