How often are you checking your engine oil? Itā€™s typically recommended that you do so once a week, when your engine is off, cold and parked on level ground.

Simply pop the hood, find and remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Push it all the way back in and wait a second, before withdrawing and checking the oil level. It should be a dark colour, and sit between the two marks on the stick. Remeber to push the dipstick fully in when refitting.
