So my beautiful kids were taking photos on my work phone yesterday. I’ve just gone to check my messages and I’m locked out for another 3 hours, so you can only imagine how long they’ve locked it for! 😅

So please bear with me, as soon as it’s unlocked I’ll be able to reply to message.

So sorry! Reality of having kids 🤣

Cheers
Soph

Hey everyone 👋🏻

I’m on admin this morning, so if you’ve been waiting for a message from me in regards to lessons, please keep an eye out this morning

My hours going forward for the foreseeable future will be Tuesdays (all day), Wednesdays (depending on testing availabilities) and then Saturday mornings. With dialysis, physio and kids this is all I have the mental capacity for at the moment, which means there could be a longer wait time for lessons, but I’ll do my best to get everyone in.

Thank you everyone for your patience over the last 8 weeks while I’ve been away, looking forward to getting back into it!

Cheers
Soph ✨

Sophie seen the surgeon yesterday, he’s happy with her progress so has cleared her to walk and drive 👏🏻

She will be in contact with all her current contracts to get them started again over the next few days, so please be expecting a message, if you have an outstanding contract and haven’t heard from her by Sunday night please send through another message.

Hours will be slightly declined as she’s still a bit slow after not walking for 8 weeks and the muscles need some help, shes also recovering from the flu going around, so please be patient with available appointments.

She’s looking forward to getting back to work

Cheers

Updated speed limit changes to our local roads 🚗

Edit: they have now placed ‘new limit’ signs coming into town from Ballarat at the 80km and 60km zone, and there’s also now a sign heading outbound at the Napier street corner.

🚦Updated speed limits in Maryborough

The Victorian Government is rolling out new speed limits across several state-owned roads to improve safety for everyone travelling in and around Maryborough:

🛻Bendigo–Maryborough Road (Park Road)
Gladstone St → Tuaggra St
60 → 50 km/h (1.5 km)

🛻Pyrenees Highway (Inkerman St)
Napier St → High St
60 → 50 km/h (220 m)

🛻Pyrenees Highway (High St)
Inkerman St → Lamb St
60 → 50 km/h (900 m)

🛻Pyrenees Highway (Sutton Rd)
400 m east of Margaret Ave → Flagstaff Lane
100 → 80 km/h (1.2 km)

🛻Ballarat–Maryborough Road (Derby Rd)
Napier St → Capilano Dr
70 → 60 km/h (1.4 km)

🛻Ballarat–Maryborough Road (Derby Rd)
Capilano Dr → Centenary Track
100 → 80 km/h (550 m)

🛻Bendigo–Maryborough Road (Maryborough–Dunolly Rd)
Drive In Court → south of Morses Lane
80 → 60 km/h (400 m)

🛻Maryborough–St Arnaud Road (Phelan Rd)
Collins Court → west of Fink St
80 → 60 km/h (450 m)

To keep speeds consistent along Inkerman Street, the speed limit will also be adjusted on this Council owned road:

🛻Inkerman St / Majorca Rd
Gladstone St → Gillies St
60 → 50 km/h

The new limits are being introduced now. Please take extra care and be mindful of changed traffic conditions as signage is updated across these areas.

Sophie is now 5 weeks post knee surgery, she’s still unable to walk but can put a little pressure on her knee whilst still using the crutches. She sees the surgeon again in 2.5 weeks, to which she’ll hopefully be able to start to walk again and then start physio after that.

She still isn’t working at the moment, once she’s seen the surgeon and they have a plan moving forward she’ll contact all her students to start getting them back in. She’ll be on reduced hours to start with, but will let everyone know when she knows.

Thank you everyone for your patience!

Thanks

🚨 PSA 🚨

The speed limit on Derby Rd (Ballarat Rd) has been changed from 70km to 60km in both directions. It now doesn’t turn to 80km until you’re nearly at the entrance to the old restaurant at the Res.

This has been changed sometime in the last week without notice from the council or police station, it also doesn’t have a ‘new limit’ sign like previously used when speed limits have been changed.

Please keep this in mind when on Derby Rd, save yourself a fine and stick to the speed limit!

See photos for reference!
1st photo- 60km sign just before the merge heading outbound
2nd- 80km sign before the restaurant entrance

*not pictured- but 60km starts at Kerr’s Dam heading inbound
Another edit- the 100km zone now starts further down the road heading outbound and then heading back inbound the 100km zone finishes earlier!
They’ve also changed the speed limit heading to Bendigo, 60km zone starts earlier coming into town!

Cheers

Just another friendly reminder that Sophie isn’t doing normal lessons for another 4 weeks, it’s too hard to navigate crutches and hopping in and out of the car every hour as she still isn’t allowed to walk for another 4 weeks. Response time on her business phone is very slow at the moment, so if you need anything quickly, please message the page or contact David on 0407 844 155.

Please keep an eye on this page for any updates!

Thanks

Update on Soph ✨

She seen the doctors yesterday, they are happy with the healing and progress so far! She still needs to be fully non weight bearing for another 2 weeks to allow the artificial plug to heal completely, after that she can start to put some weight on that leg, sparingly and still with the crutches, for another 2 weeks, to then see the surgeon again and start to carefully walk and start physio to strengthen the knee again. Not sure logistically what that will look like, but as soon as there’s a plan we will let people know Soph’s availabilities.

So at the moment, still only doing testing on a Wednesday for the next 4 weeks, and then once off crutches and can walk easing back into normal lessons.

Soph & Dave are doing their best to keep up with inquiries, phone calls and messages, Dave is working flat out and can’t take phone calls during lessons, and Sophie’s doesn’t have access to he’s book, so it’s a lot of phone tag and backwards and forwards at the moment, so if you’re making an inquiry, please let us know what days and times (morning or afternoon) you’re available, and if you’re driving an auto or manual. Sometimes Soph and Dave only have 2 mins between students to try and get people in and the backwards and forwards makes it’s hard if we don’t have all the info!

Thanks

Great tips from the local police service!

Please also remember, if the weather is less than ideal, put your headlights on! They might not help you see, but will help others to see you! 💡

🥶 DRIVE TO THE CONDITIONS 🚔❄️

Goldfields, we've been experiencing some very chilly nights! 🌙🌡️

Our Castlemaine and Maryborough night shift crews have been out on patrol, intercepting vehicles and reminding drivers to drive to the conditions. 🚓

⚠️ With the recent cold weather, there's an increased risk of black ice on our roads. Black ice is often difficult to see and can be extremely dangerous, especially on bridges, overpasses and shaded areas.

🚗 Before heading off in the morning:
❄️ Fully defrost your windscreen and windows.
👀 Make sure you have clear visibility in every direction.
🐢 Slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, and drive to the conditions.

⏱️ Taking a few extra minutes before you leave could help prevent a crash.

Stay safe, take care, and look out for one another on our roads. 💙
