This car was towed to us with a braking issue. The customer advised us they were told by another mechanic that the brake pads needed replacing a long time ago, but didn’t do it due to not wanting to spend the money.

We found the brake pads were left to wear down for so long that it wore past the brake pad lining until they were worn enough to fall out, then started wearing the caliper and causing the brake fluid to leak and therefore no brake function.

By trying to save themselves money in the beginning, it resulted in the car being unable to be driven and having to pay a much more expensive repair bill due to so many other parts being damaged.

♻️ DON’T PUT YOUR TORN T-SHIRTS INTO LANDFILL! ♻️

If you have any old clothes that are not in good enough condition to donate to an op shop, please consider us before throwing away!

We can always use more rags in the workshop, so instead of putting into landfill, drop them off to us and we be able to get more use out of them.

Anything soft and absorbent can be used (things like denim are not suitable).

Another one bites the dust 💣

We’ve had two here in within two weeks. This one had just been driven for about 20 minutes and was running perfectly. It then stalled at idle and when restarted, it sounded like this. Major engine failure.

Straight to the scrap yard. 😵

If you own a Hyundai or Kia, do some research on your engine, if yours is one with the common fault of internal catastrophic failure, this could very easily happen to you.

At 37,000kms you wouldn’t expect your car to have any issues, but this car had a common fault of resistance in the steering with slight movements.

After an unsavoury experience at the dealership, the owner chose to bring their car to us for repair.

The car is back to as good as new and our customer was very happy!

The Hyundai engine strikes again!

This has a 2.0 litre Petrol G4KD and we saw it only 53km prior to this with no symptoms of its imminent failure.

It was actually booked in for suspension work, but when trying to get the car to us our customer found it wouldn’t stay running and had this knock.

If you have a Hyundai or Kia, do some research about what engine you have, and if it is one of the MANY with this common fault, get rid of it! They are ticking time bombs and yours could be next.

Share this with your Hyundai and Kia friends to warn them..This car is now only worth a couple of hundred dollars to a wrecker.

This car came to us with a rattle noise when turning fault.

We found excessive movement in the front lower ball joints to be the cause of the noise and also noted splitting lower control arm bushes.

Our customer gave approval to go ahead and install new lower control arm assemblies. The car was able to leave in a much safer (and quieter) condition than when it came in. ✔️
