We posted nearly 8 months ago Re Amy Schulkins who went missing from the Caboolture area, hoping she could be found. We always hoped it wouldn’t lead to this type of recovery which our crews always dread.

Police and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service officers continued their blitz on hooning activity along the Cooloola Coast and Noosa North Shore. Be warned, vehicles are being towed and impounded. If you do the right thing, you don't risk losing your car, you don't risk losing a life and we all don't risk losing access to the beach for ourselves and future generations.

When you are called to clear a vehicle with damage like this it often has serious injuries or worse involved.
The crash was between a loaded truck and a bus with the impact snapping the drivers seatbelt throwing the driver out of the bus.
Days after the driver walking in to check the remains is nothing more than a miracle. He is definitely a bit battered, but appears no long term injuries. He knows how lucky he and also the truck driver who was a innocent party in the crash was.
He would like to pass on a big thanks to all those who stopped and helped him at the crash site, as well as emergency services and hospital staff.
A millisecond can change your life, or someone else’s, be safe out there.

Hi all,

We have been watching the weather all week and hoping it would change. BOM are saying 100% chance of rain and predicted thunderstorms for the whole of the Auction day we have decided that we will have to postpone it. Other than standing in the pouring rain is not fun, the safety aspect of storms, scissor lifts and also customers loading vehicles onto their trailers etc has to be taken into account.

The new Auction Date is Saturday, July the 10th with inspection from 7am, and starting 8 am start. This will now be our biggest auction ever, at least 450 lots.

Cya then and stay safe on the roads.

26 foot boat and 40 foot house boat destroyed by fire at Sandstone Point.
Clayton’s Marine Division were tasked with setting up booms around the scene to contain the spread of the debris. They then refloated both boats with airbags, and towed them clear off the marina. The marina was then cleaned and booms removed. Our excavator brought the boats up onto the shore, dismantled them, loaded the remains into bins and onto super tilts to be disposed off.

As they say, s**t happens.
Armstrong Beach Mackay is a renowned beach for bogging with fast moving 6 metre tides. With the tide out a 4wd Ute became bogged on the flats. A 4wd wagon then went to help and became bogged as well. Tide came in and both went under. We were then called to rescue both vehicles for the insurer. They were sitting 650 metres from the shore and there was only a small window of time to work in during tide change. The Mackay Pozi Track with its winch attachment travelled out across the flats and recovered the first bogged dead cruiser wagon out of its bog hole and 50 metres back clear of the other vehicle. They then disconnected and changed to the cruiser ute as tide was going to turn again. They hooked down low on the rear recovery points but being a dead pull, sunk down and with suction it wouldn’t come out. They got closer with the winch to try to give the back of the ute more lift and it dragged the Pozi and its front blade which broke the crust and it went down. Ropes disconnected, it tried pushing itself out but front went further down. Tide was then coming in and was not worth the risk in trying to send more machines out, time was very limited. They then tried winching forward off the 4wd as an anchor, and that just pulled the machine deeper. In the dark as a last desperation before giving up they kept the Pozi winch low and run a rope over the Ute tray to give some height to try to winch forward and bring the Pozi front up. It didn’t work and hence seeing damaged headboard during process. On leaving the machine the winch was disconnected and boom put right up as we knew it was going to become a dead machine after the tide came in, and the front anchor blade would make it harder to rescue. Our 14-tonne excavator with its 30 tonne winch attachment was sent from the Sunshine Coast with 650 metres of rope and extension ropes. The Pozi and two 4wds we’re winched out and taken away.
Towies often go places they wouldn’t normally go to complete rescues. Thousands go to plan, but it’s always risky, so sometimes it all turns to s**t. When the tide is involved, it always adds an uncontrollable element, Mother Nature never loses.
Lastly to the person who went out the day after the incident when no one was there and hooked up the loose winch rope to a strap that was sitting in the tray onto the headboard to get a Facebook photo, and make a untruth saying we were using the headboard as a recovery point to pull the ute out, you are welcome to come to the next recovery and use your energy to actually help.
In the end, these things happen all the time to everyday Aussies and businesses. We sure are not immune to this, and ultimately, everyone works together, to get the job done, it’s the Aussie Spirit.
