This event is being billed as “A Farewell to Luddenham” as the SSME prepares to vacate the property in August 2025 to a new property.

2024 Bob Jeffreson Sprintcar Memorial Results

Good weather prevailed over the weekend and the track held up well, with the interstate competitors starting arriving late Thursday evening to camp on site.
Entries were up (48) on last years inaugural event (27), with another major event also happening over the Easter Weekend , it was good to have entrants from Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand out to take on NSW’s best.
With 15 Sprintcars entered, however 3 entrants pulled out at the last minute due to various reasons, and with full fields in the support classes, 8 speedcars, 10 Wingless and 13 dirt Mods, to contest the 5 rounds of heats it was going to tough going to see who was take out the Finals.
Our thanks go to all the SSME members who helped out over the weekend with special mention to Bryan Hunt who maned the computer all weekend, to Laurie Brien Jenn Forsythe and Ross Knight who shared the duties of Race Director.
Also our thanks go to Tony Loxley for coming along to present the trophies to all the winners.

Time to plan your SSME Luddenham major events for 2024

With the SSME Luddenham due to close in August 2025 and move to new pastures, we will possibly be able to hold the the Bob Jeffreson Memorial in 2025 as the last major event at the SSME Quarter Scale Speedway before we pack up for a new SSME park with all new track.

KIR Quarterscale NSW Open Quarter Scale Speedway report

The weather was fine for the 28th running of this prestige event, with 23 entrants and 56 cars entered across the 6 classes to be raced, to find the 2023 NSW Champions’.

With entrants from Queensland, Western Australia, and Victoria out to take on NSW’s best to find who would take out the coveted number one in each of the classes, and with a late withdrawal of Queenslander Ian Swney, who had car trouble on the trip down

As Friday practice for the interstate got underway with some finding problems with their cars were forced to withdrawing some of their cars, we were down to 49 cars for the event. A number of the NSW entrants also hit the track to try and sort out issues with their cars which had plagued them every time they had the car on the track.

Saturday’s drivers meeting it was held to let all know that as the SSME would only be at the Luddenham site till 2025, and track maintenance to the fencing (which needs major work ) would advise all to stay clear of the fence where possible to avoid damage to their cars. Once the racing was underway we were able to complete 4 and a half rounds of qualifying, and time for track prep for the remainder of qualifying heats on Sunday and the Finals.

Sunday dawned with another fine sunny day for the final rounds of heat 4 part 2 and the 5 round, then onto the finals. With a number of drop outs within the Sprintcars, there was no need for a “B” final, with only 9 cars started the Final. The attrition also befell all the other classes, with some that would not start and others too damaged to continue. All in all the racing over the weekend was some of the best races for some time with some close duels throughout .
