Alternator pulley seized up, these type have a one way sprag bearing/clutch. This one had failed which also caused damage to the drive belt tensioner. But we were able to replace the pulley and not requiring a whole alternator for about a 4th of the price.

Not my favourite to work on, but non the less, repairing an oil leak and carrying out a service. Lucky for me, this tractor is fairly well looked after and tidy.

Sometimes will recommend a radiator during an inspection even though it isn't leaking. This photo shows why, plastic is brittle and could break at any moment(crumbles in your hands with out to much effort). Either leaving you stranded or worse yet, a blown up engine.

A friendly reminded to keep those tyres in check. Just because there is tread, does not mean there safe. These tyres are coming up to 5 years old, and showing signs of dry rot. General is tyres have a shelf life of 5 years.

Using incorrect rated hosing will definitely cause you dramas and standard. Low pressure hose had been used on a high pressure line. Worked for a while but left this customer stuck with a tank of fuel on the ground. Repaired with high pressure hose. Won't be an issue again.

You know it's Friday when bolts break. But it's one of those feelings, being able to extract it with out to much dramas that does not feel like Friday any more.

This one was a good find. I30 presenting with a noisy drive belt. Found tensioner failed and drive belt stretched. Replaced these, a lot better but under ac load at idle, still noisy. Removed and checked the ac clutch and pulley. All seemed to be OK. Found int. Hiccup in the idle, no codes or other symptoms except it had tried to stall once before recently. Pressurised and smoked the intake system, Found a slight intake gasket leak. Replaced and vehicle is driving like new again. Videos in comments

Remeber guys. We do it all, from general servicing to in-depth mechanical and electrical.

This Rav 4 had intermittent faulting cruise control. Was acting as a faulty switch, a bit of diag and confirmation. Traced it back to the clock spring. With a dead spot.
Replaced the clock spring and off it went working perfectly again.

Slack on the updates lately guys. Bit of of the usual work this one, v8 jeep coming in with a dead cylinder. These shut off the cylinders for economy. Cylinder 6 un-able to reactivate. Traced it back the the solenoid. Unfortunately looks like internal damage has happened running faulty for so long. Will be carrying out further diag on this one to confirm.
