Heads up if you are local to the Northern Rivers!

I was looking for a good mechanic, and Zac came highly recommended-so I gave him a go!

To say I was impressed is an understatement!

He was punctual, respectful and did some really neat work!

Zac is honest and didn't pressure me into 'fixing' things that could wait- instead he has worked with me to get a plan together for some future non essential work.

He was easy to talk to, and because he is a mobile mechanic, I didn't have to cart my kids around for the day filling in time to get a car service done!

If you are looking for a good mechanic, give him a go- you wont regret it! 😊

While servicing this vw, found a coolant leak at the waterpump/thermostat. We replaced the waterpump/thermostat housing, along with the cheeky internal drivebelt. Vacuum bleed the cooling system, road tested the vehicle to operating temp to make sure everything is running smoothly. And to finish off carried out a pressure test to confirm everything is happy with no more leaks from the cooling system.

Went out to fix a missfire(which we did) appeared to have new coils and plugs fitted not long ago, ended up finding a connector not fit correctly.

But the vehicle had a very bad steering shudder, while checking suspension, found the drivers front calliper to be seized (pistons) brake pads had also recently been replaced. Lucky on the day, could source a new calliper and fit then and there.

Road tested the vehicle and dramatically helped the shudder from steering. Still sent for a rotate and balanced.

Unfortunately for this car. Little low on compression. Blown head gasket.

No hockey for the long weekend. So off to work it is. Catching up on some jobs.

Unfortunately this car was purchased a week ago.

This was an over heating focus, upon inspection found cooling fans not operating. Tested all circuits and power to fans. All showed OK, testing the fan manually, does not operate. Replaced the fan assembly, with a little freind falling out while doing so. Testing proved all OK.

Still a few issues to iron out. Fingers crossed it's a leaking egr and not a failed head gasket from the over heating.

This rav 4, has been sitting for a few years now. A few issues occurred to give a lot of trouble. When I got to the car, we had no communication with the ecu. Upon inspection a water leak had caused it to rust and corrode damaging the board. Replacement ecu and programed, car wants to start but won't fire or run.

Flushed fuel system, now car runs but has a bad misfire. Found the coils missfiring and causing a backfire. New coils and plugs. Car runs smooth but will stall.

Lastly pressurised and smoked the intake system finding a leak in the intake manifold, and once removed, fell apart at the welded seem. New intake. Car is running like new.

Oh what a feeling 😅

Required the clutch replaced. Starting to slip, loose drive and a fairly noisy throw out bearing.

Jobs like these, I miss the hoist.
