Hopefully everyone is having a great start to the new year!

As usual, I don’t stop long, and quietly started back early this month to keep the remaining orders from last year going out as indicated to each individual customer. As new orders come through, it can be a tricky time of year to keep on track.

Next month I’ll look forward to catching up with old friends & customers at the Toowoomba swap meet.

Just another run-of-the-mill post showing the “regular suff” I make. Maybe through 2026 I’ll pop in a few pics of current projects, although everything being time consuming, I’m just happy laying low currently 😄

As 2025 is nearing it’s end fast, and I had a chance today, thought I’d wish my customers and page followers a great Christmas, and all best for the next year 2026!

Thanks for all the support along the way, and keeping me busy! let’s see what next year brings 😄

I usually to back off for a couple of weeks over Christmas, but never seem to totally stop, as the pressure keeps building otherwise, but I’ll try!

Just sharing Chris’s new site, if anyone wanted a T shirt.

He did a very striking shirt design for me a long time back for the Grot, but I sort of missed the moment, and never got around to having them printed 😁. His efficient way of printing shirts as they are ordered saves me doing it the old way of getting a batch done, and the possibility of being stuck with them if nobody else wants them 😅

These HK Holden specific lower front guard bottoms are a good example of panels that end up expensive to make (for what they are), but a necessity for the handful of customers that go to this sort of detail.

The oxy fusion welds, and tedious bolt hole legs & drain hole area at the bottom are very time consuming. Even what I charge makes them not really viable as an hourly rate! There are quite few panels in this category, including some that I either never made (for this reason), or stopped making oner the years (e.g. monaro quarter panels). The things you do for love in this trade 😁

Not really business related, but may be interesting as an example of old fashioned panel work. You know you either love your trade, or just plain stupid when you do this sort of stuff on a wet weekend. I’m leaning towards the second option🤦‍♂️😂

Yes, I have many other way more important things I should be doing. Yes, I know it’s a waste of time on a dirty old speedway car, and yes it’s mine, so it’s enjoyable to me 😂😂. I like building, collecting & saving stuff that I think is cool. This is a low dollar project, building a replica of the old Torana that I used to race. I had the idea for a while, and couldn’t help myself when this old thing was for sale cheap a couple of years ago. Enjoyable because it’s a reminder to me of the individual nature these types of old style “home built” race cars the average person had a go at building and racing back in the day.

Although I have way too many projects on the go, the days you really feel like doing something in particular, is the time to do it! Maybe a but slower, but seems to keep multiple projects moving.

Continuing with tidying up and condensing stuff, I lifted down what remains of this HK Monaro that I shelved years ago. The rest can now go in the scrap pile, which makes better use of my shed space, all part of my long winded clean up!

I unpicked the necessary roof and “Monaro only” inner structure and sat it on the donor floor, which was a HK Premier body I bought about 15 years ago for this project. The upper frame will sit on here, stored where it is for now until I get around to sandblasting it. The necessary panels will be fabricated to repair the rust, before welding it back together.
