NICOLIA CHASING SUCCESS AT LISMORE SPEEDWAY

LISMORE'S Trent Nicolia, 27, has a very realistic philosophy to his racing and it's that same approach he will take into Production Sedan events featuring "The Dream" feature race at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway, Saturday night, December 2.
It's not the only race that is the major attraction as the track enters into the Christmas spirit with novelty events including push bike races for the kids.
Christmas and speedway combine to herald in the Festive Season with Santa Claus also in attendance.
Meanwhile, Nicolia says his major objective is “to have a good race and finish with the car straight at the end of the night.”
Nicolia, who has raced Production Sedans for two seasons, is one of the fancied runners for “The Dream” main event. He has performed well in the division since making the switch from Modified Sedans two years ago.
He says he feels he has found a home in the Production Sedan division – and for a very definite reason: “Production Sedans are a cost-efficient class.”
Motor racing is not cheap – no matter the category – but there's no doubt Production Sedan racing is an affordable, cheaper class that provides competitive racing.
Nicolia, who drives a VT Holden Commodore, hopes to be at his competitive best when he takes on a strong line-up. He feels quietly confident, largely because he likes the layout of the Lismore Showground track.
Even though a bull ring and circular in shape, which requires turning the car in a corner virtually all the way, Nicolia is not perturbed by the demands of the circuit.
“I enjoy the track because it is a fast-flowing circuit.”
Race officials and promoter David Lander are happy with the nominations received for “The Dream” which honours the memory of Lismore sedan legend, the late, great Grenville Anderson.
Anderson, a four time National Sedan Champion, died on May 31, 2004 from injuries sustained in a crash at Brisbane's Archerfield Speedway in the early 90s.
A strong line-up of GM Commodores challenge the Falcon entries in the classic Ford versus Holden contest.
The Junior Sedan Cup also will be run and won.
This division caters for the youngsters – Australian Speedway's potential future stars. Josh Boyd, Matthew Weir, Brock Youngberry, Connor Reeves and Jaiden Santin are some of the noted tear-away drivers who have entered.
Racing also will be featured for Wingless Sprints, AMCA Nationals, Compact Speedcars and National Four Cylinder Sedans. Trent Martin, currently points leader in the Wingless Sprints' Lismore Workers' Club – Driver to America series, has entered.
