Pre vs Post Rego - What’s the Difference?

There’s a big difference between when modifications are done:

🔥 Pre-Registration (SSM)
Handled under a federal framework, where the manufacturer carries responsibility for compliance. Does not require state-level engineering if sold or registered interstate.

🔥 Post-Registration
Regulated by state authorities and requires a VASS Engineers Certificate for Victoria. If the vehicle is sold or registered interstate, it would require re-engineering according to that state’s requirements.

Both pathways can be compliant, but the key is making sure the work is done properly and meets the correct guidelines.
