“I came to you because you were the dearest in town.”

That’s not something you hear from a customer every day.

A lady called us this morning needing a new battery. As we always do, we took her registration number and asked one simple question:

“Is your car stop/start?”

We gave her a quote and thought nothing more of it.

A few hours later she walked into the shop and opened with:

“I’m here because you were the dearest in town.”

Naturally, I asked why she’d choose us if we were the most expensive.

She explained she’d called two other places first. Both quoted almost half our price.

Fortunately, she did a little research before buying. She discovered her vehicle actually required an AGM/EFB battery, which can cost nearly twice as much as a standard flooded battery.

She came back to us because we were the only ones who asked the right question and quoted the correct battery.

Then came the kicker…

When we removed the old battery—which had only lasted two years—it turned out to be a standard flooded battery that wasn’t even suitable for her vehicle. 🤦‍♂️

The cheapest quote isn’t always the right quote.

Sometimes the difference isn’t the price—it’s knowing what you’re fitting.
