We have had 46mm since Friday here. More rain on route!

WA’s interior has apparently decided normal spring weather is boring as s**t.

A whopping 1,383,798 lightning pulses were detected within 800 km of Leonora during the 48 hours ending 8am Monday.

⚡️ Around 900,000 of those occurred in just 24 HOURS.

At this point, someone needs to check whether Thor has picked up a FIFO contract.

A slow-moving trough being fed tropical moisture has been firing thunderstorms across a ridiculous chunk of WA - from the South Coast through the Goldfields and Interior and all the way towards the Pilbara and Kimberley.

And it wasn’t just noise and flashy lights.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport picked up around 66 mm between Friday and Monday morning - roughly FIVE TIMES its average rainfall for the entire month of September.

And the best bit?

The outback still isn’t bloody finished. ⛈️😂

September 2026 has basically turned inland WA into one enormous faulty bug zapper.

⚡️ 1.38 MILLION lightning pulses in 48 hours.

Mother Nature, you’ve made your point.
