CarPlay integration into the factory screen for this 2015 Jaguar F-Pace today. All of the factory equipment is retained including the powerful Meridan speaker system.

Ford's Wolftrack scores some nice features but misses out on premium sound. Thanks to Focal Motorities Australia and their range of direct fit speakers we can have it sounding sweeter with minimal fuss.

The showroom updates continue after-hours so some new toys can be un-boxed. Exciting times.

An increasing trend through the workshop is EV's that due manufacturers chasing this elusive efficiency numbers and range are noisy on the road. Lighter components (read speakers), the removal of sound dampening materials (its' heavy) and rock hard tyres (lower rolling resistance) all add up to increased road noise.

Around town no problem. But 100kmh on a bit of coarse-chip highway and the tyre roar and higher frequency whine generated by electric propulsion over an ICE vehicle for those wanting to listen to a podcast or music is torture.

While we can't solve all of the issues we can use speakers and the targeted application of sound dampening material to help improve the experience.
