It’s pretty amazing what can happen in 9 years 🚐

LeisureRent started with just a handful of small rental cars and an idea from Ken - offer great vehicles, great value and great local Tassie business service.

Fast forward to today and that little fleet has grown to so much more, ranging from compact MGs and Mustangs through to sleeper vans, campervans and big 6-berth motorhomes!

We now welcome travellers through both our Launceston AND Hobart depots, pick customers up from the airports, help plan Tassie road trips and send people off to explore every corner of the state.

A lot has changed over the years, but the important stuff hasn’t..

Ken is still hands-on, proudly leading our team. We still take the time to have a chat with our customers, share local recommendations and make sure you’re comfortable before heading off.

So here’s to 9 years of LeisureRent - and all the Tassie adventures still to come ❤️

Meet Jordan - one of the friendly faces behind LeisureRent!

Born and bred in Launceston, Jordan is a big extrovert, loves meeting new people and is a bit of an all-rounder.

Before LeisureRent, he was a concreter, and outside of work you’ll find him working events like Dark M**o and festivals.

Jordan says Tassie is the best (we agree), but he’s got one important tip: 10 days is NOT enough! A rookie error, apparently. 😂

800+km of Tassie adventure 🏔️

Steven, one of our guests, recently set off on the ultimate Tassie road trip - flying into Launceston, exploring Cradle Mountain and the east coast, and finishing his journey in Hobart.

His choice of home on the road was Our 6-berth luxury Mercedes Sprinter, with plenty of comfort, space and power for Tasmania’s mountain roads. They travelled over 800km and only needed two fuel top-ups!

Meet Stephen - the friendly face of LeisureRent Launceston 🚐

Our new all-rounder, people-person and all-round top bloke,

Originally from WA, Stephen came to Launceston to visit his grandparents and ended up falling in love with the place. So much so, he packed up the slow WA life and made Tassie home.

And Launceston has been pretty good to him - he even met the beautiful Persian woman he fell in love with here ❤️

But Stephen’s story goes much deeper. At just 19, he faced a life-changing event, and it gave him a real determination to make life a little better for the people around him.

There’s something pretty special about a clear Tasmanian sky!

The air feels incredibly fresh, visibility goes for miles, and when night falls, you can even see the Milky Way stretching across the sky 🌌

Tassie is known for its remarkably clean air and low levels of fine particle pollution.

Clean air, crisp skies and endless stars- Tassie really is something special ❤️

Mon and her family weren’t initially convinced a motorhome was the right way to travel Tassie… 😆

Pretty quickly, the nerves turned into excitement as they collected their little “home on wheels” for the week and headed off on their family adventure.

"It was extremely comfortable and Steve made sure we had everything we needed plus more. We added on the bedding which was such a great idea in cold tassie, we would have needed a whole other suitcase for the bedding.

We paid for powered sites due to it being winter so that we could have the heater during the night. Often it was too hot anyway for it but nice to turn on early in the morning so that we could get out of bed into the warm room.

At Cradle (mountain) we used it all night as it was freezing! We loved our little home on wheels and we managed to fit so much in.

Highly recommend the little Tasting Trail map, wherever we were travelling that day, we would look for little stops along the way and it was great.

Highly recommend LeisureRent!"

Ten days, six travellers, one motorhome and a full Tassie adventure around Van Diemen’s Land 🚐

Karyn recently shared this lovely review after hiring a motorhome with LeisureRent for a family trip around Tasmania.

From her very first search almost a year ago, through to saying goodbye to their “home on wheels” at the end of the trip, Karyn said the whole experience was easy and affordable.

With four adults and two kids on board, it was their first holiday together- and while she joked they’d probably hire two vans next time, she had nothing but kind words for the LeisureRent team.
