Okay, apparently we need to clear something up.
I recently shared a post about friendship and reminding people to tell their friends how much you appreciate them.
The photo showed an incoming call from “Sophie (ICE 1 - BESTIE)”, with the number 0468 399 867, along with a photo of me and a friend.
I've since received a few comments suggesting I didn't respect her privacy by sharing her name and phone number.
So, to set the record straight, that wasn't her phone number, and Sophie isn't even her name.
“Sophie” is actually the name of someone I went to school with in Year 3. The woman pictured isn't Sophie, and her real name is... none of your business. That's kind of the point. I don't want people searching for her on Facebook simply because she appeared in one of my posts.
And the phone number? That's the public Dixon's Hazard Response number. It's not even my personal number.
In fact, when I mention someone by name in a post, there's a pretty good chance I've changed their name specifically to protect their privacy.
So, who doesn't respect privacy again? 😂
Sometimes the best way to protect someone's personal information is to make sure you were never given it in the first place.
