On Black Saturday, February 7, 2009, Kilmore Fire Brigade and countless other firefighting teams faced one of the most devastating fire seasons in Australian history.
That day, 173 lives were lost, over 3500 structures were lost and over 450,000 hectares of land were burned.
We remember the bravery of firefighters, volunteers, and community members who faced the firestorm head-on.
The impact of Black Saturday is still felt today, and we continue to honour those we lost. ❤️
