Warmer weather and diesel fuel are not a great combination especially in storage tanks.
Microbial growth what the industry calls diesel bug thrives when water finds its way into your diesel supply. And water always finds its way in. Condensation, rain contamination, temperature cycling it all adds up.
The early signs? Sludgy dark sediment in filters, injectors that run rough, and fuel that looks cloudy or discoloured.
Left unchecked, it blocks filters, clogs injectors, and corrodes your tank lining. A decent biocide treatment stops it in its tracks and a quality diesel conditioner keeps water dispersed before it becomes a breeding ground.
This is especially relevant for transport operators with bulk storage or trucks sitting over weekends and long weekends.
Don't wait for a blocked injector to tell you there's a problem. Prevention here is genuinely cheap compared to the cure.
