A few years ago id repaired a Holden HR/HD Astor car radio. Sadly either car alternator or regulator decided to over charge. The result cooked output transformer. Driver transformer. Output Transistors. driver Transistors. The only economical way to repair radio was to install a modern output stage (. I don't do this very often ) . With using a modern output stage 4--15 ohm speaker can be used. As for the overcharging. The owner has been notified . Auto electrician will be looking at the car .. www.oldcaradiosfixed.com.au
