Some jobs can snowball, during a previous visit to CFC we identified an air leak issue on one of our customers cars. The decision was made to pull the inlet manifold. There was clear evidence where the gasket was leaking with oily deposits in the ports that were non responsive to mixture adjustments. This was confirmation of the issue identified. The ports in the heads and manifold are way too big for the rest of the build spec. The yucky thing was the use of car bog from the previous builder to form a gasket surface. This was done because so much material had been removed during porting. Some of bog had started to break up. So it’s time to prepare some replacement heads and a replacement manifold. Stay tuned….

The scene of the crime… I was back at The Bend for work today… While the track was being set up I decided to go have a look at where I went off when that tyre popped… It’s safe to say I did the right thing by straightening the wheel… If had lock on it by the time I made the dirt the outcome could’ve been very different considering the rate of knots I was going… 😅
