On site diagnosis of alternator and battery failure.

Can see slow leak/sweat of diesel had leaked onto the alternator from above.

-Replaced alternator and battery on site.
-Replaced seal within suspected fuel pipe fitting. Due to the very slow nature of the leak will need to monitor closely.
-Tested charge rate, all ok.

-Rectified oil/air leak from breather hose
-Checked injector values and advised
-Drained and removed catch can to inspect

Fuel light on dash. Reoccurring when customer resets the filter light after approximately 30km.

-Fuel flow to primary fuel filter from secondary is too slow. Secondary fuel filter replaced and both fuel filter housings thoroughly cleaned. Reset light and performed extended roadtest. All ok.

JK Jeep Wrangler

The Radiator decided to explode spontaneously.

Coolant temperatures for these engines are higher than other vehicles for emissions purposes. It relies on a completely sealed system to maintain pressure which increases the boiling point of the coolant.

When there is a leak it is usually quite dramatic.

-New radiator installed
-Coolant replaced
-Pressure tested
-Coolant temperature monitoring on long road test

Seem to be picking up some more quad bike repairs recently 😅

-Picked up this RFZ Commander 125cc from the customer, Not running.
-Spark ok
-Fuel ok
-Compression not ok.
-Timing ok
-Intake valve clearance non existent and allowing air to escape on compression stroke through the intake. Rectified valve clearance. Engine now runs ok.
-Adjusted idle and throttle cable.
-Returned quad to customer 4hours later 🤘

2025 Mitsubishi Triton MV and caravan

In for some more electrical work.

-UHF radio installed and wired in. Controls were all on the hand piece so the unit was mounted out of the way and under the glove box.

-Rear camping lights installed and wired in. Made wiring loom and passed through the tub all the way to the engine bay battery. Utilising standard and custom grommets, ensuring a water tight seal. Cut out holes in interior trim beside left rear door for switches. Separated left and right light circuits for when camping.

-Caravan exterior lighting not working. Some very old fashioned wiring technology was used prior and some short circuits were found. Rectified wiring and now exterior lights work.

Diagnostics in the dark 🔦

-ABS and ESP lights on the dash
-Wheel bearing replaced
-Rear shocks replaced

ABS faults were misleading, multiple research results pointed to either replacing or rebuilding the ABS unit.

After some diagnostic checks found a voltage difference/resistance between ABS Earth supply and chassis ground too large to ignore. Traced back to battery Earth strap. Improved battery earth strap and rectified ABS Earth supply.

ABS faults no longer static. Performed steering calibration and erased faults. All ok.
