Mark sent us his stunning Trackhawk all the way from Perth for a full engine build, install, and tune.

The car already arrived in strong form, putting down a healthy 1000hp at the hubs with some serious supporting mods already on board.

We got stuck in and took it to the next level:
• Built 6.6L engine
• 200hp progressive NOS setup
• Stage 2 built transmission
• Kong Performance 2650 supercharger

Everything purpose built and optimised for roll racing.

Once the spanners were down, we sent it up the road to the talented crew at East Coast Customs for dyno time and proper street tuning.

The result? Mark, the team at ECC, and everyone here at Canberra SRT Tech are absolutely wrapped!

Final figures at the hubs: 1381hp & 1480Nm That torque curve is absolutely vicious, this thing is going to be an animal.

We’ll do a full feature on the build once the Trackhawk is back in the workshop and ready for the trip home to Perth. Stay tuned!

2021 RAM DS, 153,000km.
Cylinder 8 misfire code. Ticking continuously.

The condition of the cam has us lost for words. Cylinder 8 lifter roller gone.
Cylinders 5, 6, 7 & 8 have cam wear like we’ve never seen before.

What’s your thoughts?

When are you booking in your Hemi, for us future proof this type of failure with our NON MDS cam and lifter package?

We thought it was the usual story… bottom end knock, had metallic particles from a cam or lifter failure torn the bottom end bearings up?
We stripped down this stock 6.4 SRT Jeep engine and found something we’ve never seen before.
The crankshaft was cracked.
A crack that started at the rear counterweight where the trigger wheel bolts on, and ran all the way through to the number 7/8 crank journal. The crack formed a sharp edge that chewed the bearing apart. That was the knock!
No mods. No abuse. Just a completely stock engine with what looks like it could have been a factory casting flaw that slowly worsened over time.
We’d like to point out this is a very uncommon failure and that in hundreds of repairs we’ve never seen this type of failure before.
Anyone else ever seen a crank fail like this?

The Hellcrate Redeye 6.2L Supercharged HEMI® crate engine (part ) is a high-output V8 delivering 807 hp and 717 lb.-ft. of torque. It features a 2.7L supercharger with 14.5 psi boost, a cast iron block, and 9.5:1 compression.

A bit of after hours work getting some diagnosis done on a vehicle that came to us from Sydney, we found not 1 but 2 holes in the side of the block . One of the most catastrophic failures we have seen to date.

Unfortunately in this instance total failure occurred less than 100kms after the customer had paid another workshop thousands to fix their car.

A timely reminder to only trust the experts.
