EBS braking took centre stage at the LRTAV Conference, and the message was clear: hardware alone isn’t enough – operators need the skills, support, and processes to make it work.

Since Shepparton, ALRTA has been approached with offers to help develop training, portable testing tools, affordable diagnostics, and industry-wide wiring standards.

Now, ALRTA will take these offers forward — working with industry partners to roll out practical operator training, champion national wiring standards, and advocate for commissioning and onboarding requirements to sit alongside new technology mandates. Our Braking Habits project will continue to drive cultural change, moving from “she’ll be right” to proactive safety checks.

This is industry stepping up, working together to match regulation with real-world capability – because safety is everyone’s business.
