5,000 followers!! Wow! Thank you! ❤️
When we first started sharing photos and videos of our work, we never really had a plan for social media. I just thought Jordy and the team were doing some pretty cool things in the workshop, and it seemed a shame not to document it all.
What started as a bit of a photo journal of the jobs, the people and the everyday happenings around the boatyard has become a real passion of mine, and something I now love making time for each week. It’s been so rewarding capturing what the crew are up to and sharing a little glimpse of our world with all of you.
Over the years, our business has grown, our team has grown, and we’ve been fortunate enough to take on some incredible projects, working on many special old boats along the way.
We’ve really enjoyed being able to bring you along for the ride. From the little repairs and everyday jobs in the workshop to the bigger restorations, the challenges and those moments when everything finally comes together.
We’re incredibly passionate about what we do. For us, it’s about much more than just repairing boats. It’s about keeping these beautiful old wooden boats alive, preserving the skills and knowledge that go into maintaining them, and making sure the shipwrighting trade continues to be passed on to the next generation.
And hopefully, by sharing a little of what goes on behind the scenes, we’re helping more people appreciate just how much work, skill and care goes into keeping these old boats on the water, or perhaps even inspiring others.
Now that there’s 5,000 of you following along, we’d love to know what you’d like to see more of!
Do you enjoy the big restoration projects? The before-and-after photos? The traditional boatbuilding techniques? The day-to-day workshop antics? Or would you like us to explain a bit more about the processes and why we do things the way we do?
Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
A massive thank you to everyone who follows along, comments, shares our posts, or just takes an interest in what we’re doing. We really do appreciate the support, and we hope you’re enjoying following our journey as much as we’re enjoying sharing it.
Here’s to keeping these old boats alive for many more years to come!
