๐ Southern 500 Speedway Working Bee Update ๐
What a massive week of progress at Southern 500 Speedway!
Firstly, a huge thank you to the members and volunteers who made the effort to come along and help out. With the weather on our side, we've managed to tick off a long list of jobs and make some fantastic progress around the club.
A special thank you goes to G,C Rethus & Son Ag Contractors for the generous use of their loader and grader. Their support allowed us to move close to 1,100 tonnes of clay, with approximately 400 tonnes incorporated into the existing track surface and the rest stockpiled for future use. This work will be a huge benefit heading into the season.
The perfect conditions also gave us the opportunity to complete all mowing and w**d spraying around the venue, helping keep the facility looking its best.
We're also excited to share that a new fence has been installed along the back straight spectator area behind the bar. A big thank you to Condah Fencing & Shearing for the amazing quality job.
Other jobs completed during the weekend included:
โ
Concrete fence repairs completed.
โ
New push bars framework fitted to the new fleet of push utes.
โ
New electric-start water pump for the fire unit, ready for installation.
โ
Continued progress on the new toilet block construction.
Speaking of the new toilet block, the team has put in an incredible effort and it's looking absolutely sensational. We'll be saving the photos for the final reveal, as there are so many volunteers, businesses and supporters involved who deserve recognition. We can assure everyone that this fantastic addition to the club is seriously impressive, and we'll be sharing the full story and plenty of shoutouts as we get closer to completion.
As we continue counting down to our season-opening events, there's still plenty of work to be done around the club. If you can spare some time, please make an effort to get involved, lend a hand and help share the workload.
