A fun time was had at Lake Keepit’s inter club regatta held 23/24 March.

7 races were held with Simone nabbing a first in the Catamaran division and Chris a second in the hotly contested Laser division. While the Dam level has dropped to 36% there was plenty of water to sail on though we could have done with a little more wind!

Next event with Lake Keepit Sailing Club is the Keepit Kool - June Long-weekend 2024.
Be there or be square.

No wind, no one here to sail with. So we went up to the clubhouse to hang out and found books with the old Club minutes back to 1983!

We are sorry to announce that we have had to postpone the regatta until February 2024. New dates will be available very shortly.

First Club championship of the year, so we enjoyed a BBQ before the race - 11 boats on the water including new sailor Chris (welcome!). Extremely variable breeze with a few changes of direction made for interesting sailing - Chris Thompson led the monohull division while John Scott-Hamilton AKA Johnny Utah took out the cat division.

First sailing day of the season! Had a pretty good turnout, 7 boats (3 Maricats, a Viper, 2 Lasers and an Impulse). 1st in the cats was Simone Coop in her Mari, and 1st in the monos was Chris Thompson, both running rings around the opposition! Was great to see new member Felix (Landy’s nephew) having a go in Landy's Impulse - Felix will be moving to Lasers this season and is super keen to learn more. A shifty Malpas day, not unusual for this time of the year.

Racing this year is always on a Saturday, starting at 2pm. See you soon!

Very exciting news - Kirsten Neuschafer is very likely to be the first woman to win the Golden Globe race, smashing several records in the process! If anyone knows where we can watch the finish live, please let us know!

The trio of Simon, Kirsten and Abhilash are close now sailing within 170 miles of each other as they approach the Bay of Biscay and the final run toward Les Sables d'Olonne.

Sailing is on this afternoon - it’s a training day although I just know some of the folks will want to stage an informal race. All welcome!

We had a great sailing school this weekend! We started folks out paddling the boats round a mark and practicing steering, and by the end of Day 1 we had them sailing round a triangle course! Day 2 was a bit rainy and cold, but we still had fun! Young Lex learned to drive the rescue boat, while Seb and Izzy refined their skills on the Picos and then had a go of the Laser. Also pictured, Chris helping Chris right the Corsair after a cheeky capsize.
