Already an experienced manual driver, Harry simply needed some guidance on observation checks, multi-lane driving, and roundabouts before his driving test. ✅ Watch for cyclists and pedestrians avoiding swooping magpies near parks and schools
✅ Longer daylight hours mean more flexibility for after-school and after-work driving lessons
✅ Keep an eye out for wildlife becoming more active around roads, particularly at dawn and dusk

A huge congratulations to Shrey on successfully passing his driving test! 🎉 Welcome to the AAA Achievers Club! 🌟🌟🌟👏

Shrey had already completed his 120 hours of driving practice when he came to AAADSG but needed some extra guidance with NSW road rules, particularly roundabouts and parking. He was a quick learner, picked everything up quickly, and developed into a confident and capable driver. ✅Actual Test Date: 29th June.

Reversing cameras and sensors can help, but they don't replace good observation.

✅ Cameras and sensors are allowed during your test
✅ Check mirrors and surroundings before and while reversing
✅ Look behind, not just at the screen
❌ Park-assist must be switched off

The camera is a tool, not the driver. Assessors want to see safe observation and awareness at all times.

Good driving starts with knowing what’s happening around you. Not just what’s in front of you.

One of the most common mistakes learner drivers make is forgetting to check their mirrors regularly, especially before:

👉 Changing lanes
👉 Turning or slowing down
👉 Pulling away from the kerb
👉 Merging into traffic
👉 Overtaking

The key is to make mirror checks a habit from the very beginning.

Your rear-view and side mirrors help you build a complete picture of the road around you and when needed, don’t forget that all-important head check for your blind spot.

Scan ahead, watch for parked cars, driveways, pedestrians, and anything that could affect your path. The earlier you identify a hazard, the more time you have to respond safely.
