We had this VN dropped off with a big list of work required and recently got it to the stage where the owner could start and drive it to finish off the body and trim.

We started off by having the engine bay sandblasted before filling all unnecessary holes and ugly pressings before having the bay painted in 2k to match the exterior.

The owner supplied a LSA crate motor to which we then fitted a cam kit, VCM snout and the early commodore conversion kit.

We had a bullet proof th400 built to suit some decent power and hard launches and installed it all with an Allfast converter and huge trans cooler to keep temps down.

All the wiring in the engine bay has been hidden nicely with the ECU still controlling all the fuel injection and pumps required including the intercooler pump to keep things simple to operate with all the vitals displayed on its Haltech dash.

With the VNs new found power we fitted and plumbed the full willwood package all round to help in the stopping department, we used thier boosterless master cylinder to help keep the bay looking sharp.

We will see this back in the future to finish off so here are some in the build pics.

We rescued this one tonner off the side of the road after one of its tie rod ends pulled out due to insufficient thread holding it in place. We were informed the aftermarket power steering rack had been the cause of many issues including poor handling.

Once we had it on the hoist it was clear the steering geometry was terrible and the best way forward was to put back what the general installed originally.

We refurbished the original style steering and modified the extractors to suit as they were suited to the aftermarket intermediate steering shaft before installing.

While we had it we found and rectified a couple of other small issues such as incorrect extractor gaskets which would have hindered engine performance and we upgraded the front wheel studs to heavy duty 1/2 inch units to match the rear.

The ute was wheel aligned and returned to its owner driving the way it should.

We had this beautiful VN SS 5L dropped in to get a cam package, high stall and diff gears installed.

We fitted a hydraulic roller cam and lifter package to the 304 and fitted a alloy radiator with Spal thermo fan and shroud with digital controller to keep things cool.

We were also tasked with fitting a high stall and big trans cooler with fan to suit the package and had the diff fitted with 3.7 diff gears with trutrac centre to complete the driveline upgrade.
