Autotech Engineering Pty Ltd specialise in servicing vehicle, modifying
and upgrading vehicles. We have an excellent reputation in Dyno tuning. We are also leaders in engine rebuilds. Autotech has been in business for 28 years. Spiro Papadimatos started his business at the ripe age of 23 where he began to carve himself a reputation that has kept him in business for two decades and has one of Sydney’s leading workshops. While working on his own he came to the conclusion that he needed staff to keep up to his demand. With the ever increasing workload came a need for more specialised equipment, and in 1995 we took delivery of a state of the art Dyno Dynamics 4WD Dyno, the only one of its type in NSW at the time. As computer technology played an ever increasing role in the operation of the modern motor vehicle, Autotech had to move with the times with purchasing sophisticated equipment to keep abreast of this growing technology. In 1997 we were granted a Unichip dealership which moved us into the engine management recalibration market an extension of the EFI work which we are already recognised for. Not long after we expanded properties to house an exhaust division. Here our exhaust division caters form standard exhaust systems to developing custom big bore performance exhaust systems for racers. Autotech exhausts are developed in house to maximise volumetric efficiency whilst maintaining legal noise levels – which translates to more efficient operations of customer’s vehicles. Today Autotech comprises of 12 specialist staff, most have been with us since the early 90’s. It is easy to see how we have grown from a small operation to one of Australia’s most comprehensive specialist automotive workshops. The level of customer service that Autotech Engineering provides is only matched by our professionalism and expertise. Our customer service and satisfaction is what we thrive on. Honesty, reliability and that trustworthy experience our customers receive is what keeps our business in operation. Our client’s cars are treated like our own. Care is taken with any job we do. Most cars are washed and cleaned before they are handed over to the owner. The products we use are always to the Australian Standards. We try and buy our products within Australia – supporting local businesses. There is no compromise when it comes to customer safety. Our business supports the local community through different charities: e.g Westmead Children’s Hospital, Care Flight, Sydney Special Children’s Christmas Party, The Kidney Foundation and any other charity that comes to our door. We also support Oakhill College through their various fundraisers throughout the year. We offer support to Granville TAFE with some of their apprentice programs. Autotech Engineering supports the motor industry through our experience. Workshops and Motor Dealerships always ring for advice and direction in vehicle that we specialise on. We support part suppliers by buying direct from them rather than sourcing parts from overseas. Business growth is something that we try and achieve every year. We look at business growth by making new developments for new model vehicles. We try and increase demand and extract value for our products. We look at what changes we need to make to improve growth whether it’s through our marketing, productivity, new equipment, and technical developments or staff developments. Our employees I feel are one of the strongest and most professional team in the business. I feel that as business grows employee expansion has to happen otherwise our jobs will never finish. We also like to replace our apprentices as our apprentices become qualified mechanics. Detail the successes and achievements of your business during the last 12 months
Our most successful achievement in the last 12 months has been The World Time Attack held at Eastern Creek where our own vehicle “THE HULK” (wrx) won first and third places in its class. Our customers have also had great achievements on the race track with their vehicles at various club meets at Eastern Creek and Wakefield. Other achievements have been through our apprentices where they have achieved
Awards at TAFE. We have been very proud to be associated with these achievements. Our professional senior staff always lead by example. We thrive on excellence so
training staff is always our number one priority. Training seminars are often offered
to our staff through various suppliers which we suggest they attend. If our staff are
unsure of a job we always encourage them to investigate, read the literature which has been provided and then talk it over with one of the senior mechanics before they proceed with the job. When a customer has made a booking and they bring their car in for the day we will sit
them down and discuss what the procedure will be. Once we have inspected the vehicle
we list and cost the job. The work is always authorised by the customer. Once the job has been completed the vehicle is always washed and cleaned. A week later someone from
our office will ring the customer and do a follow up report to ensure that they are happy with the work carried out.
