Memories remain vivid as ever 30 years on from the cliff collapse that killed nine people, including four children, and forever changed the small coastal community of Gracetown.

On September 27, 1996, local primary school students were taking part in a surfing carnival at Huzzas Beach on the final day of term three when a wet and windy day sent children and teachers seeking shelter beneath a large limestone cliff.

Without warning, part of the cliff face collapsed, killing five adults and four children.

Spring has finally arrived at Gracetown Caravan Park 🌸

It’s a beautiful thing, watching our quiet bush-scape transform from winter growth into vibrant lively wilderness! With the warming weather, you can see flowers blossoming everywhere, the birds singing again and the joeys feeding from their mothers’ pouches. Spring here is definitely a sight to behold ☺️🩷
