In NSW you can be fined for tarnished or obstructed headlights.
The law states you 'must not reduce the performance of the vehicles' headlights.'
I'm sure it's not only the fine that causes issues, but the reduction in light can cause blind spots, a lack of clarity during driving and objects such as Kangaroos not quickly seen during driving, therefore creating a major possible hazard.

Just completed a key FOB repair. Switches were all gummed up & battery housing had fallen off.
Cleaned and resoldered the housing.
Used a FOB tester to check successful work completed.

This Ford Focus came in with a strong vibration, especially at idle.
Just by using a spirit level, it could be seen that the engine was leaning one way.
This model, as well as many other vehicles now-a-days, are using hydraulic engine mounts.
They use 2 separate chambers that 'float' the engine in a hydraulic fluid of glycol and water.
If this collapses, then engine drops onto the body chassis, as seen in the video and crates an annoying vibration. This can also damage other components.
Get your vehicle regularly maintained to avoid the inconvenience and extra damage to your precious car.

Hearing of many technicians refusing to service or repair Hybrids & Electric Vehicles.
Make sure you take your Hybrid/EV to an accredited technician at an authorised workshop.
This MG EV has a 400 Volt High Voltage battery. All high voltage wires are orange.
Would you play with your wall outlet of only 240vac?

Just spent 3 days in Brisbane attending the AutoCare 2025 Expo. Totally forgot to post some interesting exhibitions.

This 500cc Suzuki
Vinson Quad Runner
would start, but would not accelerate. Frustrating for the owner, who needed for his farm.
This is the second time I've seen this issue.
The carby breather hose was blocked by a mud wasp nest.
This often happens when a farm vehicle, in this case, a quad bike, is left for some time without use.
The wasps move in and make themselves at home, blocking passages, creating all sorts of issues.
When the blockage was removed, it would accelerate like it should.

Regardless of how many kilometers you do each year, your vehicle still needs regular maintenance.
This 2006 Rodeo for example, has only done 90,000km.
But through a lack of maintenance, the fuel pump became rusted due to water in the tank. This resulted in a no-start condition.
The tank needed to be removed and cleaned, together with a fuel module replacement before the vehicle was up and running again.
