FITTER & TURNER/MACHINIST
We are looking for an experienced Fitter & Turner/Machinist to join our highly skilled marine refit & repair team at the Boat Works, Australia's largest and most advanced shipyard, located in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, Coomera. This is an immediate start.
Working alongside dedicated and experienced engineers, shipwrights, and painters, you will be working on luxury boats, and your work will be highly varied and interesting. The successful applicant will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of machining, fabrication and welding, operating a centre lathe, mill, and welding equipment. Ideally, you will have some of your own professional tools, a reliable car, and must have full rights to work in Australia. Knowledge of DC electrical, plumbing and hydraulics would be advantageous. A forklift licence would also be highly valued.
You must be a committed team player, highly professional, dependable, and knowledgeable. You must be able to work well under pressure, and meet deadlines. We work 40-45 hours per week, with half-day Fridays, within a close-knit, supportive team culture. Remuneration will be in the $40-$50/hour range, depending on your employment basis.
