Well holey sh÷tballs what a weekend..
I don't think in our 12+years of racing we've had one anywhere like it 🫣 buckle up Grimmo's Fam 💚This is a long Office girl/pit bitch version haha..
Friday practice day was vertually the whole day chasing an electrical gremlin that had the boss and our mates Jason and Kyle frustrated as.. Qually Saturday Cranky girl redeemed herself and behaved, issues seemed to be resolved P2 happy days.
Race1 Smooth sailing all good P2 again. ❤️💪
Race 2, our mate Brayden had a horrible crash in his newly rebuilt, new livery Mustang..😢 Then the restart is where the weekend took nearly a catastrophic turn of events.. with the procedure for starts and restarts confusing alot of drivers, putting the boss back where he wouldn't usually be.. resulting in the BMW having a moment and without the Boss's split second reaction he and Cranky girl were in some serious trouble (see previous reel) that evasive off road back on track facing wrong way omfg moment did alot more damage underneath than realised at the time, but she soldiered on for another 8 laps making it from second last up to 10th in the field of thirty... back to the pits for some bush mechanic's..
Race3 started 10th when 2 of the boys came together at turn one sending the boss and Beau into evasive action, mowing grass again putting him back to 18th but he powered on managing to get to 4th.. Phew.
Sunday Race 4 field split grid, the new change of procedure for starts again caused issue, same as the day before but this time the boss was penalised 5 seconds after a complaint, which was later rescinded... that race was hard enough as the cranky girl just didnt feel right, then a different electrical issue knocked.. resulting in flame out and master reset for multiple laps all whilst trying to hang on to first place.. Result P1 omg ❤️💪🏁
Race5 bolted.. looking awsome, relieved pit crew for a moment.. then flame out again multiple laps, but still battling with John in the VE and Shane hot on his heels, among doing all that and the master re-sets the rear end felt awful, something else was very very wrong.. but he managed to hang on to finish 3rd in that 12 lapper... super proud if them..
Presentations (2nd Open class), cuddles goodbye then home time and straight on the hoist, our mate Jason waiting to see how bad that Race 2 omfg moment damaged Cranky girl's nether's... well, the custom exhaust pretty much destroyed, rear toe rod bent, other important bits I know nothing about bent...way worse than what we could see in the paddock..😪 I dont know how the boss and Cranky managed to achieve what they did in those last 3 races.. some sweathearts I miss were watching over them this weekend I'm sure..
It was a great weekend with our Replica Fam, Old mates from Ipra and some new friends from Qttc, an absolute cracker field of cars, some memories we will never forget and now alot of work ahead to be ready for the next one..
