We recently designed and printed this double-DIN stereo surround fascia to suit 1989-1997 MX-5. This can be made with no USB flyleads, painted or unpainted, or with a custom logo. The design process in action - making a trim retaining clip for an area where it's hard to get accurate measurements. The first design iteration is printed quickly using cheap material and allows for a test fit to quickly see what needs to be fixed. Depending on the application, test prints can be faster and cheaper than trying to get accurate measurements right from the start.

So not exactly an automotive application but earthmoving is pretty close. My son's excavator arm broke and he was pretty upset about it. On analysis I could see the failure was due to the original cantilever design causing a stress concentration on the arm, and definitely not my son absolutely reefing on the lever.

No point having industrial 3D printing capabilities and not using them to do something about it right? I knocked up a new improved coupling in CAD, featuring thicker 2mm walls, deeper engagement, and improved single-shear design to minimise bending stress.

Definitely my happiest customer to date :)
