Last week we got a wee surprise in the mail.

To say we are just as grateful for all our customers as they are grateful for us is an understatement.

Going above and beyond is part of the job.

We love what we do and getting this kind of thing reminds us that honesty, transparency and willing to serve the community really does pay off.

When driving in the rain the most important thing is visibility.

Actually when driving full stop, visibility is as important as the tread on your tyres or the amount of material on your brake pads.

Wow if the last 24 hours is anything to go by the next 24 hours is going to consist of much the same.

Yesterday consisted of running parts and fuel missions.

Picking up, repairing and returning generators to customers so they could power their homes.

During these wild times a generator is almost more important than toilet paper or some might say it is more important than TP.

Whatever your view having a generator is one thing but having a generator that is hard to start or maybe doesn't start at all is about as handy as having no toilet paper at all.

I'm sure none of us need the reminder but we are going to remind you anyway.

CHRISTMAS is just around the corner.

It's sneaking up on us like a Huntsman does while we sit on the toilet, bammm it's there and we don't know where it came from! 🤣

So without any further ado we present to you our workshop hours over the festive season.

With our workshop hours as follows, emergency and breakdown hours will remain 7 days a week.

Remember a vehicle that is well maintained and serviced is a safe and reliable vehicle.

Yesterday morning saw us go straight to site and fit a new battery to this wee guy.

With the impending truck arriving early morning this machine had to be up and running to unload the goods.

If field service is required thats what we will do here at Altitude Automotive.

Some might say it's in our blood.

Tim worked for 3.5 years as a Field Service Technician working on all things from agricultural equipment to forestry gear and everything in between.

How good is this place we call Springbrook?

There is not much that is more dangerous than turning on the wipers and making the lack of vision turn into complete blindness!

With such unpredictable weather up here in paradise your vehicles windscreen wipers are critical.

This is why for the month of November every vehicle that gets serviced by us here at Altitude Automotive will receive a pair of windscreen wiper refills on the house.

Thats right free wipers when you get your vehicle serviced by us. (Conditions apply)

And for the vehicles that simply need clearer visibility when it rains we will supply and fit a pair of wiper refills for $20.

Bookings for a same day service is required.

To have your wipers replaced a simple phone call to let us know you are on your way is all that is needed.

It's be a busy few weeks here at Altitude Automotive.

Thank you Springbrook for your incredible support since opening a full-time workshop right here on the mountain.

We have had almost every kind of machine through the workshop from your regular cars and SUVs to lawn mowers and generators, chippers and chainsaws.

The highlight of the last week was working on this wee guy carrying out a 2000hr service with timing belt replacement and a couple of wee repairs.

The only thing we haven't had the pleasure of working on is a motor bike.

Who's going to be the first customer to bring their steed in?

What make and model do we reckon it will be?

Should be run a prize for the first bike and the person who picks the correct make and model?

Saturday saw us down at the Springbrook men's shed.

By the time we had left this old girl was running like a Swiss watch.

After years of sitting there idle, fresh oil, fuel and some charged up batteries were all that was required to fire this wee beast into life.

Next job is to get the clutch and brake hydraulics working so we can move it under it's own steam and stop us from careering uncontrollably down the mountain.

Is your TIMING BELT due for replacement?

Having previously carried out a service on this Toyota, we noted that at 203***km the timing belt was due for replacement.

Last week we carried out a full timing belt replacement complete with new camshaft and crankshaft seals, new bearings and tensioner. The water pump was also replaced as it's driven by the timing belt.

It must be noted the the previous timing belt was installed incorrectly and the crankshaft timing was a tooth out. This customer was extremely lucky terminal engine failure didn't occur.
