Who remembers when you could go scrounging for useful stuff at the local dump. It was free and great fun!
When I was a kid (50s/60s) I recall riding out to the dump on my bike with friends to eat our cut lunch and then fossicking around for wheels for a billy cart or other useful stuff. In those days, you would sometimes bring home more than you took to a dump.
It all changed of course when health and safety regulations came along. Anyway, quite apart from the fact that they would never be allowed to do it, I wonder if kids today would even be interested in having lunch or fossicking for old stuff at the dump.
